Teaching situation is the emotional atmosphere created by teachers during the teaching process,and situational evaluation of teaching is an effective means of evaluating students’learning performance.The evaluation system of the Chinese college entrance examination points out that the test question context is the carrier of examination.Biology is a discipline closely related to life.《The Biology Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools(revised in 2017 and 2020)》propose that core biology literacy refers to the values,essential qualities,and key abilities that students should possess after learning through the curriculum.The core literacy of the subject is not only the starting point of education,but also the foothold of education.The teaching and evaluation of biology should closely adhere to the key point of core literacy.The evaluation of biology test questions from the perspective of core competencies should start from real situations and focus on examining students’ different dimensions of literacy levels when solving practical problems.Moreover,the test scenario enhances the applicability of knowledge,with rich sources of materials and diverse forms of expression.It can also convey scientific emotions by enhancing students’ connection with society,and has certain educational value.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct situational research on high school biology test questions.This study first adopts a literature research method,by reviewing relevant literature on core competencies and situational questions,to understand the current research status of relevant theories or practices at home and abroad,and provide a solid theoretical foundation for this study.Furthermore,using case analysis method,the use of situational questions in the 2021 and 2022 Jiangsu Province Biology College Entrance Examination and the New College Entrance Examination adaptability test papers were analyzed,including the classification,proportion,and content characteristics of test questions.Our research showed that the proportion of situational test questions in Jiangsu Province in the past two years were increased.The situational test questions in the Jiangsu college entrance examination emphasize authenticity,and the situational information may be simple or complex,which could derived from textbooks and extended to society and life,especially by utilizing current hot topics.The propositional characteristics and trends of these situational test questions in the Jiangsu College Entrance Examination provide effective inspiration for test question formulation.Subsequently,through interview with teaching/experts,general ideas were obtain for the basis and principles of contextualized test question formulation.It was point out that when preparing test papers,it is important to focus on the selection of test question contexts,which should not only meet students’cognitive level,but also have a certain amount of information and thinking value.Based on above analysis,a paper with situational test questions was arranged with the goal of evaluating students’ life concept literacy level as the direction in the first year of high school.The overall test data to test the quality indicators such as reliability,validity,and fit of the test question was analyze used the Rasch models.The results showed that the test results of the self-designed test questions were good,Contextualized test questions can effectively distinguish students of different ability levels.Finally,data analysis was conducted on the core literacy performance scores of students from different dimensions and levels to determine the advantages of situational test questions in assessing students’literacy levels.Through this study,the following conclusion can be drawn:biological core literacy is the direction of the proposition,and the test questions should be able to effectively evaluate students’ core literacy performance.Introducing context into the test questions enriches the background of the problem,making problem-solving practical and showcasing students’varying levels of literacy in problem-solving,effectively examining their ability to apply what they have learned.In recent years,Jiangsu’s college entrance examination has increasingly attached importance to the application of situational questions.Contextualized questions require students to be proficient in the exam and have high requirements for their thinking.Moreover,many of the material backgrounds of situational questions are related to real society and life,which broadens students’ horizons and further enhances their interest in learning.Therefore,situational questions are more suitable for the current educational needs. |
