With five thousand years of history,Chinese traditional culture boasts its extensiveness and profoundness.In recent years,our government attaches great importance to transmission and education of our excellent traditional culture.And Chinese is undoubtedly the core curriculum to take on this significant task.Classic ancient poetry and prose contain abundant general knowledge of ancient culture,so they are an indispensable part of Chinese excellent traditional culture.Therefore,modern times require us to dig into ancient poetry and prose as well as grasp its general knowledge.The changes in “National Chinese Curriculum Standards for General High School(declared in 2017;revised in 2020)”also reveal the significance of digging into cultural general knowledge during our teaching of ancient poetry and prose.Furthermore,it is specified in the syllabus of college entrance examination that general knowledge of Chinese ancient culture is what students must master and will be examined.For this reason,incorporating general knowledge of ancient culture into our ancient poetry and prose teaching has become a necessity.However,the current teaching of ancient cultural knowledge has not been given enough attention,so it is in a relatively awkward position.In view of this,a study of ancient cultural knowledge teaching in high school ancient poetry and prose is conducted,which,under the perspective of cultural inheritance and comprehension,plays a significant role in further optimizing the teaching of ancient cultural knowledge.The teaching contents of ancient cultural knowledge include astronomy,calendar,nature and geography,ancient official positions,imperial examinations,customs and manners,names and appellations,clothing,food,housing,transportation and utensils,literature and art,etc.In recent years,the items of ancient cultural knowledge in the college entrance examination paper are complicated and fairly difficult,but the hints of which can be found in the textbooks.In fact,the textbooks contain rich knowledge of ancient culture,covering all aspects,especially the textbooks with more ancient poetry and prose which are compiled by the Ministry of Education.But the ancient cultural knowledge in the textbooks is often complicated,scattered,unsystematic,fragmented,and over-simplified.In actual teaching,research shows that teachers have limited knowledge reserves,their teaching and examination methods rigid and monotonous,while the students have low level of interest,less self-exploration and weak knowledge transfer capacity.Based on this,to optimize teaching of ancient cultural knowledge,teachers may make self-adjustments in the teaching preparation stage.More exploration and practice of teaching strategy should be carried out so that the teaching evaluation stage will be more diversified and scientific,thus promoting the benign development of ancient cultural knowledge teaching.
