Research On The Influence Mechanism Of Social Integration On The Willingness To Stay Of Floating Population In Xi’an

In the context of more than 40 years of reform and opening up,the vitality of Chinese cities has been continuously enhanced,and the expansion of the floating population is one of its manifestations.The floating population optimizes the allocation of labor resources,creates economic value for the city and promotes the urbanization process.At this stage,the urbanization process has entered a critical period,and it is difficult for the population to achieve social integration and truly stay in the new city during the migration process.This phenomenon of "flow without retention" is not only detrimental to the stable development of the floating population,but also to the economic stability of the city and the promotion of urbanization.With the promotion of the western development and the planning of Guanzhong Urban Agglomeration,Xi’an’s economic and industrial development advantages are particularly prominent in the western region,and Xi’an has become the main siphon center of the population.Based on this,taking the floating population in Xi’an as the research object,measuring the degree of social integration of the floating population and clarifying the mechanism of the impact of social integration of the floating population on residence willingness are of great significance for orderly promoting the urbanization process of Xi’an.This paper mainly carries out the research from three aspects:(1)the identification of social integration dimension of floating population and the analysis of residence intention data.Based on the grounded theory,the dimensions of social integration are identified through literature,and the questionnaire on social integration and residence willingness of the floating population is designed by referring to the questionnaire with mature research results at home and abroad and the index system of the floating population dynamic monitoring questionnaire issued by the National Health Commission.The questionnaire is distributed to the floating population living in Xi’an for half a year or more,Descriptive analysis of the floating population’s willingness to stay;(2)Measurement and analysis of social integration of floating population in Xi’an.It measures social integration from four dimensions: residential integration,behavioral adaptation,cultural integration and psychological integration,and studies the relationship between floating population characteristics and social integration through correlation analysis;(3)Empirical Analysis on the impact mechanism of social integration on the residence willingness of floating population in Xi’an.Based on push-pull theory,social integration theory and Maslow’s demand theory,a hypothetical model of the relationship between social integration and residence intention is constructed.The hypothetical model is verified by Amos,the impact mechanism of social integration on residence intention is analyzed,and the impact difference of different population characteristics and mobility characteristics on the path is analyzed.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)the floating population aged26-45,with high school and undergraduate education,married and female account for a large proportion.The floating population aged 36-45,who are married,have a higher income level,a smaller floating range and a longer floating time,have a higher willingness to stay;(2)The floating population in Xi’an has the highest degree of residential integration,followed by cultural integration and behavioral adaptation,and finally psychological integration.Through the correlation analysis,it is found that the young and middle-aged,married,the smaller the floating range,the longer the floating time,the higher the degree of social integration of the floating population;(3)In the impact mechanism of social integration on residence intention,residence integration not only has a direct impact on residence intention,but also has an impact on residence intention through intermediary variables such as cultural blending,behavioral adaptation and psychological integration.Among them,the indirect effect mediated only by behavioral adaptation is far greater than that mediated by behavioral adaptation;(4)Female,young and middle-aged,highly educated,unmarried,and short-term floating population have a more significant effect on the path of cultural integration →psychological integration,residence intention,psychological integration → residence intention.According to the research conclusions,corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward: pay attention to the social integration of the floating population from multiple perspectives,implement the equal right enjoyment of welfare benefits,remove the hat of defining the floating population as "migrant population",popularize the rights owned by new citizens,and ensure that the floating population get greater convenience in basic life such as pension and medical care;Improve the housing security policy for the floating population.On the one hand,the government can increase the market supply of rental housing by increasing the supply of land for rental housing and invigorating the stock of housing.On the other hand,the government can appropriately adjust the amount of housing subsidies so that more floating people who are qualified and able to buy houses with independent property rights have independent property rights;Promote the floating population’s willingness to stay by groups,and formulate diversified policies for different groups to improve the floating population’s willingness to stay.
