| Population mobility has become increasingly active, many rural populations have migrated to cities, and urban residents have moved from underdeveloped areas to developed coastal areas to obtain better employment opportunities under the background of new urbanization construction and accelerated adjustment of industrial structure in China. In 2021,the total number of floating population in China has reached 376 million. It can be seen that the scale of the floating population in my country is increasing, and it also brings certain challenges to the management and service of floating population in the inflow and outflow places. Therefore, the study of floating behavior and long-term residence intention is conductive to grasp the flow direction and characteristics of the floating population,so as to better manage and serve the floating population, and provide realistic support for urban development planning.Based on the national floating population data released by the Health Commission in 2017,this paper studies the influencing factors of the floating population’s long-term residence intention from the perspective of social integration with the help of the relevant demographic theories, including migration,push-pull,and social integration theories.Firstly, the factor analysis method is used to measure the level of social integration, and at the same time, the binary logit model is used to analyze the overall level of social integration and the influence of different dimensions(identity, social relationship integration, social security, cultural integration)on the long-term residence intention of floating population. The cities are divided into different categories, and the division is based on the data of the "2017 Business Charm Rankings of Chinese Cities",and the heterogeneity of the influence of each variable in different cities is compared and studied. The results of this research are as follows: First, from the perspective of spatial distribution, population flow is mainly concentrated in first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai and the southeast coastal areas, and the flow direction distribution indicates an obvious trend of "intensive in the southeast and sparse in the northwest",and presents a ""inflow from the east and outflow from the inland" feature.Second, different city categories have different long-term residence willingness.Among them,first-tier cities have the highest long-term residence willingness, which reaching 50.18%.With the decline of the comprehensive development level of cities, the long-term residence willingness also shows a downward trend.Third, the level of social integration and its various factors have positive impacts on the improvement of long-term residence intentions,of which identity has the greatest impact, followed by social security.Fourth, personal characteristics, economic conditions and mobility characteristics also have impacts on long-term residence intention.Married, highly educated,non-agricultural hukou, high income, and long-term mobility can enhance long-term residence intention, while gender has influence on this variable and effect is not significant.Fifth, different types of cities have different influences of various factors in social integration. As the comprehensive level of cities decreases, the influence of identity and cultural integration characteristics is also weakened. The first-tier cities have the greatest impact, while the integration of social relations and social security shows wave-like changes in different types of cities. The higher the comprehensive development level of the city, the greater the impact of social security on the willingness to reside;the lower the comprehensive development level of the city, the greater the impact of the integration of social relations on the willingness to reside for a long time.Sixth, household registration, education level, housing, and mobility range have different impacts in different cities.Based on the results of the research, the following suggestions are put forward: relevant policies are introduced to solve the problem of housing security for the floating population;knowledge and skills training can be strengthened to increase employment income;the social integration of the floating population can be promoted,so that they have a sense of belonging in the inflow area;government can play its leadership role in solving the education problem of the children of the floating population. |
