Research On The Role Practice Of Social Workers In Embedded Elderly Care Services

In the face of increasingly severe elderly care services,local governments have proposed to accelerate the construction of embedded elderly care service institutions,and social workers,as an important force in service,have been embedded in community elderly care services earlier.The embedded elderly care service introduces a market mechanism.The service groups are the elderly in the community,especially the elderly with special difficulties.They are embedded with diverse objects such as doctors,rehabilitation therapists,and nutritionists.The services include on-site rehabilitation,on-site nursing,and on-site housekeeping.As a result,the role and service relationship of social workers has changed from a single one to a complex one.What role do social workers play in embedded elderly care services,what role practice challenges they face,and how to optimize their role playing are issues worthy of attention.This paper takes the current embedded elderly care service project of Guangzhou A Street as the research object in the way of case study,and finds that social workers play a good role mainly as direct service implementers,case managers,information consultants,relationship coordinators,Managers and trainers,administrators who help seniors.However,the expressive roles of social workers such as enablers and community service providers have weakened,and at the same time,they are facing the impact of utilitarian roles in market operation and risk management.It can be seen that the practice of social work roles is in a dilemma.According to role theory,the factors affecting role practice are three dimensions:role specification in social environment,role support in work scene,and individual’s own role construction.Based on the influencing factors of role theory,this paper analyzes the role practice dilemma of social workers in embedded elderly care services,from three aspects: the optimization of role regulations in the social environment,the strengthening of role support in work scenarios,and the promotion of social workers’ own role construction.Dimensions make recommendations accordingly.The first is to steadily promote the development process of the role of social workers in embedded elderly care services,clarify the service responsibilities of social work,and assist government functional departments to clarify the boundaries of social workers’ roles,so as to provide a good social environment for the professional development of social workers.The second is to rationally adjust the focus of the project,moderately resolve the tension between market-oriented operation and the professional requirements of social workers,and at the same time clarify the role expectations of all parties for social workers,clarify the responsibilities and job requirements of social workers,and establish a long-term mechanism for the professional growth of social workers.The role of the social worker provides room for development.The third is to identify the role of social workers in embedded elderly care services and enhance the initiative of social work roles,so as to establish professional status by improving the professional level.
