Research On The Evaluation Of Safety Street Environment Based On The Child-friendly View

As the status of children in urban development gradually increases,"child-friendly cities" has become the value orientation of many cities’ construction and development.As streets are the gateway to cities and the most accessible public space for children,safety is the foundation of child-friendly cities,so it is especially important to build child-safe street spaces.First of all,this study clarifies the research theme of this paper based on the background of the lack of children’s traffic safety due to urbanization,the increasing importance of children’s spatial rights and interests,and the importance of children’s safety in the construction of child-friendly cities.The study summarizes the research and practice related to child-friendly street safety at home and abroad,the existing foreign street evaluation tools and the safety-related contents in China’s street design specifications,and provides a theoretical basis for the construction of a child-friendly street safety evaluation system.Secondly,by analyzing the characteristics of children’s psychological development,children’s behavior,and classifying and summarizing children’s walking activities in the street space,the safety requirements of children’s walking activities in the street space on the street environment are obtained,including traffic safety requirements and activity safety requirements.and psychosocial safety needs.Then,starting from the safety needs of children in the street,we construct a child-friendly street safety evaluation system with three primary indicators including traffic safety,activity safety and psychosocial safety,six secondary indicators including traffic control,traffic node security,access security,environmental health,safety devices and perceived safety,and 16 tertiary indicators.The results of the evaluation were analyzed to find out the environment that needs to be improved and optimized in the three streets,and to summarize the current child safety problems in the street space.Finally,based on the above research,we propose the establishment of a full participation mechanism for children,the construction of a multi-dimensional planning system to ensure the "rigid" needs of children’s safety,the street safety planning that takes into account the age level and needs of children,and the safety planning strategy to carry out children’s safety education with the cooperation of multiple parties,as well as the optimal design strategies based on traffic safety,activity safety,and social and psychological safety.The design strategy is based on traffic safety,activity safety and social and psychological safety.
