Research On The "Emotional Shell" Of Urban Old Drifters Involved In Social Work

The loosening of the household registration system provides an opportunity for population mobility.At the same time,with the continuous development of urbanization and industrialization,more and more people are living away from their hometowns in order to survive or develop,and become the floating population.In this context,China’s floating population has gradually become a huge and non-negligible group,among which the old drifters are a more special group.Most of them live away from home in old age for their children and live in the city with their children.It seems that with the improvement of living environment and family reunion,its problems also arise quietly.Problems such as a weakened social network,insufficient emotional support from family members,and a lack of social interaction have led to their inability to pin their emotions on,which the researchers define as "emotional shelling".In real life,however,the problem of the old drifters and their emotional shelling is often ignored by the family and society.As a helping profession,social work has the responsibility and ability to help the drifters solve this problem,so that they can Enjoy your old age.This study focuses on the elderly from the villages and towns among the old drifters..Due to the differences in the environment,the problems they face are more urgent and more serious.Therefore,the researchers selected 10 urban old drifters in City C.Using field observation and face-to-face interviews,to understand in detail the appearance of its "emotional shelling" problem,it is found that it is mainly manifested in three aspects: the weakening of the social network,the vacancy of family emotions and the lack of social interaction.Through further analysis,it is believed that the reasons for this "emotional shelling" state are mainly due to the double detachment of the urban old drifters and their instrumental existence.On this basis,the researcher hopes to use social work for intervention,selects the case work method in social work methods,and selects more typical service objects from the interview subjects for intervention.In response to the problems of service objects,under the guidance of demand theory and social support theory,researchers use the psychosocial governance model to carry out three-stage intervention.The service contents of the three stages are changing irrational cognition and establishing a sense of belonging;enhancing family support and avoiding instrumental existence;building social network and promoting resocialization.Through intervention,to a large extent,the service object has been helped out of the state of "emotional shelling".Therefore,through the study,it is believed that the urban old drifters are facing the urgent and common problem of "emotional shelling",and social work intervention can effectively help the urban old drifters solve this problem under the guidance of the psychosocial governance model.At the same time,the solution to the problem of "emotional shelling" of the urban old drifters is not single,and requires the joint efforts of the family,society and the government.
