Under the background of urbanization and aging, the elderly rural migrants as a new vulnerable group has gradually attracted attention from all walks of life. The values and norms cultivated in rural culture may make it difficult for them to integrate into urban life.In other words, cultural differences and even conflicts between urban and rural areas may cause them to suffer from acculturation pressure, which may seriously affect their quality of life. The major of social work, which aims at serving the disadvantaged groups, should conduct in-depth research on this issue under a broader theoretical perspective. In view of this, this study selects 3 elderly rural migrants with acculturation pressure as the research objects, which aims at exploring how a case-based social work approach based on life model and narrative therapy can be effective in helping clients cope with acculturation pressure. In this study, scale method, observation method and interview method are used to collect preliminary data.On the basis of a certain understanding of the acculturation pressure of the elderly rural migrants, this study summarizes the specific manifestations of the acculturation pressure, and analyzes the causes of the acculturation pressure.Based on these conclusions and analyses, this study uses life model and narrative therapy to help service objects externalize problems and find exceptional events through case social work,so as to form positive self-identity and reconstruct meaningful life stories,so that help relieve their acculturation pressure. The effectiveness of the service is mainly carried out by using the social adaptation scale to conduct before and after tests for the elderly rural migrants and the evaluation of the service objects. The findings of this study are as follows: first, the transition of life stage, the pressure of environment and the imbalance of interpersonal communication make the service objects feel the pressure of acculturation.Second, the failure of service objects to effectively cope with acculturation pressure is not only related to the pressure events in the external environment, but also related to their own assessment and judgment and coping ability.Third, life model and narrative therapy and can effectively relieve the acculturation pressure of the service objects. This study explores the creative combination of life mode and narrative therapy in the field of social work practice for the elderly rural migrants. On a theoretical level,Both life mode and narrative therapy argue that personal growth is an individual’s exploration of the meaning of life in a specific historical and cultural environment. They emphasize the significance behind life stories from historical and cultural dimensions. The life model advocates that the daily life practice of the client should be placed in the physical, social and cultural environment, and pay attention to the matching of personal needs and environmental resources. While narrative theory can help the service objectss separate problem and themselves in the process of new narrative life story, reshape the relationship with the city of mainstream culture, and refract constructive life stories to escape the effects of acculturation pressures. Therefore, life model and narrative therapy can complement each other in terms of casework intervention in the acculturation pressure of elderly rural migrants.
