A Case Study On The Improvement Of Self-Worth Of The Elderly From The Perspective Of Narrative Therapy

With the acceleration of China’s urbanization process,the population flow is increasingly fre quent,and the scale of the population flow group is also expanding.In these floating groups,there is such a group of elderly people more and more attention by the public —— the elderly,they tak e care of the grandchildren,help their children with the housework,from the familiar countryside to the children’the city.Under the background of the comprehensive liberalization of the national t hree-child policy,the number of elderly people living with them in China is increasing,and the pr oblems accompanying it are also emerging.The elderly are more likely to have a sense of self-wo rth than the general elderly.Therefore,the social work profession should be an important force to solve this problem.This paper takes the improvement of the self-value of the elderly as the starting point,selects L community D as an example,takes the narrative treatment as the theoretical basis,and uses cas e study,questionnaire survey,interview and other research methods to explore the case interventio n strategy of improving the self-value of the elderly from the perspective of narrative treatment.T he first part of this paper is the introduction part,which discusses the research background and sig nificance,literature review,research methods and research ethics.The second part defines the con cept of the elderly,the sense of self-worth and narrative treatment and describes the theoretical ba sis applied.The third part is the practical process of the individual case,After the selection of the study subjects,Through problem externalization skills,exploring special meaning events,and rew riting conversations,Help your clients break down old stories,Develop new positive stories,Enha nce the sense of self-control and value of the service objects,To achieve individual ability improv ement;Using conversations between family members,outside witnesses,and peer groups,Help th em to strengthen their frequent interaction with their living environment,Improve the social supp ort network of the service objects,Lay a solid foundation for the new story to achieve the increase of the interpersonal environment of the service object;Lininking and integrating social resources through community interventions,Encourage service clients to actively participate in community activities,Strengthen the social participation of the elderly living with their parents.The fourth pa rt is the process evaluation,result evaluation and professional reflection of the practical process.F inally,this study summarizes the service process and makes recommendations.The results show that from the perspective of narrative treatment mode,the improvement of case service is feasible and effective,with the self-evaluation of service objects,family relationshi p,interpersonal relationship,social participation,and the sense of self-value significantly enhance d.However,the intervention of narrative therapy also has some deficiencies,such as the limitatio n of the selection range of the service target,the lack of scientific research conclusions;and the hi gh ability requirement of social workers.However,through reflection,suggestions are also put for ward,such as flexible use of social work-related theories,strengthening the practical skills of soci al work,linking multiple resources for the service objects,enhancing the professional support forc e,and promoting the public to attach more importance to the situation of self-worth.
