A Research On The Case Social Work Intervention In Spiritual Escort Of The Disabled Elderly In Pension Institutions

China has a large population of the elderly,and nearly 20% are disabled or semi-disabled.The mental health of those elders has worsened and the sense of happiness of them has lowered than those who are able to take care of themselves.Therefore,pension institutions not only play an important role on ensuring those daily life and medical health care services,but also focus on and meet their spiritual demands.These efforts will be of great importance for creating a cultural environment of loving and respecting the aged and ensuring the socialist culture achievements shared by everyone.The article takes the Y Pension Institution in Ganzhou as an example,and has a field work on spiritual escort conditions of the old.By doing this,the article chooses a single elder as a subject,and explores approaches and methods of the case involving their spiritual escort.The specific working procedures include: first,formulating the personalized plan for targeted role in accordance with their problems and expected demands;second,linking with service resources,encouraging and assisting the subject to engage in recreation activities in the pension institution,then listening to and showing solicitude for the subject.Thus,the living circumstances of the subject has been further improved and its negative mood attenuated and being more self-acceptance.The network of social support has been enhanced and the case work has gained better effects.Last,the article reviews the whole process with the subject and consolidates the outcome and finishes it successfully.In order to improve the specific intervention,the author advises that the social workers need to solve ethical dilemmas,integrating all kinds of materials,improving the service object support system based on the existing knowledge and experience;coordinating resources and improving the support system;adjusting professional roles dully according to different situations;upholding professional values and internalizing professional service skills,and enhance the professional quality and offer more scientific,more professional and more normative services for the subject.
