The disabled and semi-disabled elderly living in elderly care institutions can meet the needs of medical care and life care through doctors, nurses and nursing staff, but their psychological and spiritual needs are difficult to be met.In elderly care institutions, the semi-disabled elderly develop depression due to physical illness, reduced physical function, negative self-awareness,interpersonal alienation, and boring institutional life. The depressive mood brings inferiority to the semi-disabled elderly.Negativity, loss of interest, and low self-evaluation are extremely psychological and mental pressures. In order to effectively alleviate the depression of the semi-disabled elderly who live in institutions, explore the intervention methods and paths of social work practice to improve the depression of the semi-disabled elderly in institutions. In this study,a total of seven semi-disabled elderly people with depression were selected.Based on the analysis of the causes of depression, group work intervention was carried out under the guidance of social support theory, and case follow-up services were carried out with the guidance of emotional ABC theory.Under this theoretical framework, practical research methods were adopted to collect relevant research data and materials through interviews, participatory observation and investigation methods.Social work intervention was carried out for the semi-disabled elderly in institutions, and the process and effect of intervention were analyzed. The results of social work practice show that the depression of the semi-disabled elderly in institutions receiving social work services has been alleviated, and their depression scale scores have shown a downward trend, and a certain amount of social support has also been established in the elderly care institutions. Therefore, social work intervention has a certain effect on alleviating the depression of the half-disabled elderly in institutions. This study believes that targeted social work intervention theories and professional methods should be adopted for the depression and emotional problems of the institutionalized semi-disabled elderly caused by different influencing factors, group work intervention should be provided for universal influencing factors, and individual influencing factors should be used for individual cases.Work intervention, and the acceptance and trust of the client’s social workers have an important impact on the service effect. |
