The occurrence of the COVID-19 has caused a major impact on China’s economic development,and the employment situation is facing severe challenges.With the gradual maturity of big data technology represented by big data,Developing information economy and changing the overall economic and social environment,and had a significant impact on the field of employment.As an important supporting region for China’s high-quality economic development,the development potential of the central region can not be underestimated.At the same time,the new business forms spawned by the digital economy have gradually become the main driving force for employment.Based on this,This thesis takes the development of the digital economy as a research object and selects the central area as a research area to investigate the impact of the development of the digital economy on employment.It enriches the relevant theoretical research on the development of digital economy and employment in the central region,and also provides important decision-making suggestions for promoting the high-quality development of employment in the central region.Based on the analysis of the research status,experience and methods at home and abroad,this thesis analyzes the impact mechanism of the development of digital economy on employment.At the same time,according to the empirical test method of long panel comprehensive FGLS model,the research is carried out from the following three aspects:(1)By reviewing the current situation of digital economy development and the research results of relevant experts and scholars,this thesis summarizes and analyzes the specific connotation of digital economy development and the measurement of its index system.By comparing the relevant research results of academic circles on the impact of digital economy development on employment,this thesis discusses the influence mechanism of digital economy development on employment from three aspects: total employment,employment structure and employment quality.The results show that digital economy has "substitution effect" and "compensation effect" on the total employment;The development of the digital economy will bring about the transformation of the industrial structure and the transfer of the industrial structure from employment to tertiary industry;At the same time,the development of digital economy will reduce the requirements for the physical quality of workers,thus promoting women’s employment;The development of digital economy has promoted the polarization of employment,and the employment skill structure is gradually biased towards high skilled labor force;The development of digital economy will improve the quality of employment by improving the requirements of human capital,promoting labor remuneration,improving social security and changing labor relations.(2)The development level and employment quality level of the digital economy are calculated using the TOPSIS Entropy Weight Method and the development level and employment status of the digital economy are analysed.The comparison results show that the level of development of the digital economy in Central China is gradually improving,and there are obvious regional differences.Shanxi and Jiangxi obviously lag behind other provinces.In the analysis of the current situation of employment,this thesis divides employment into total employment,employment structure and employment quality.From the perspective of total employment,Hubei and Henan are the provinces with concentrated labor force in the central region.From the perspective of employment structure,the employment industrial structure in the central region has gradually changed from one two three to three one two.The gender structure of employment is gradually transferred to women,and the structure of employment skills is gradually advanced.From the perspective of employment quality,The average wage level in the central region is an important factor affecting the quality of employment;There are some differences between the central regions,but the overall trend is good.(3)Based on the inter provincial panel data of central China,this thesis constructs a long panel model from three aspects of total employment,employment structure and employment quality,and uses comprehensive FGLS to conduct full sample estimation and subregional estimation to test the impact of digital economy development on employment.Finally,it carries out robustness test and endogenous test.The results show that: first,The development of the digital economy in central China has significantly stimulated overall employment growth.Secondly,the development of the digital economy in the central region in terms of industrial employment structure has indeed facilitated the gradual flow of employment from primary to tertiary industries,and promoted the development of the tertiary industry.In terms of employment structure at the gender level,the impact of the central region on women’s employment is shown as a promotion,which has injected new vitality into the labor market.In terms of skill level employment structure,the development of digital economy in the central region has promoted the employment of high skilled workers,which is not conducive to low skilled workers.Third,the central region plays a positive role in promoting the development of employment quality.To sum up,the conclusions and suggestions are put forward: the government should increase financial support for the development of digital economy in Shanxi Province and Jiangxi Province,increase infrastructure investment,speed up the interconnection of information infrastructure among regions,provide more and better choices for workers in the central region,and promote the development of total employment in the central region.According to the economic development of each province and local conditions,we should promote the effective flow and transfer of labor force among industries.The government should increase capital investment in talent introduction,scientific and technological innovation and R & D,and expand the supply of high skilled talents.We will work out a social security system for employment services suited to the development of the digital economy,establish a normalized governance system in terms of labor remuneration and social security,and improve the quality of employment in the central region.The possible innovations of this thesis are as follows:(1)from the research perspective,the research on the impact of digital economy development on employment is not limited to the discussion of total employment,but divides employment into total employment,employment structure and employment quality.In terms of employment structure,it is also divided into industry,gender and skill employment structure.This thesis analyzes the impact of digital economy development on employment from multiple angles.(2)In terms of research methods,this thesis constructs a long panel model and uses the comprehensive FGLS estimation method for empirical test.(3)In the research conclusion,this thesis not only promotes employment or inhibits employment,but draws a conclusion from three aspects:total employment,employment structure and employment quality,and believes that although the impact of the central region on employment shows a positive impact,there is regional heterogeneity. |
