| The pressure of college entrance examination in advance makes the phenomenon of "involution" and "Tiger parenting" appear and magnify early in the compulsory education stage,and the completion of school is the primary task of teenagers.Academic performance is an important basis for evaluating individual learning ability and learning results,and also an important standard to measure the quality of school education and teaching.However,learning behavior is not carried out in a vacuum environment,and academic achievement,as a concrete manifestation of learning outcomes,is influenced by a combination of factors from the individual and the external environment.Family education is closely linked with the lifelong development of every child.With the promulgation and implementation of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Promotion of Family Education,family education has been promoted to a new height,and its importance is self-evident.In family education,parenting style profoundly affects all aspects of children,especially for adolescents who are in the sensitive and special critical period of adolescence,and it is not uncommon for children to be bored with school,drop out,be violent,or even commit crimes due to inappropriate parenting style.Therefore,as the main battleground for implementing education,it is an urgent and systematic task for schools to implement effective family education guidance work to improve parents’ parenting style,enhance young people’s learning ability,and thus promote academic achievement and ensure the healthy growth of teenagers.Three well-tested maturity scales,"the Short Form Parenting Style Scale","the General Academic Self-Concept Scale for Adolescents",and "the Self-Oriented Learning Tendency Scale for Secondary School Students",were used in this study.A whole-group sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 400 students in H middle school in a city of Guangdong Province,and comprehensive data analysis and interviews were used to understand the basic situation of current parenting styles in the school,to examine the developmental levels of adolescents’ academic self-concept and self-directed learning tendencies,and to investigate the relationships between parenting styles,academic self-concept,and self-directed learning tendencies and academic achievement,On this basis,the relationship between school family education guidance and parenting style is further discussed.The results of the study were as follows:1.Parenting style has a significant positive predictive effect on children’s academic achievement.2.Academic self-concept and self-directed learning tendency have significant positive effects on academic achievement.3.In view of the widespread problems of negative parenting style of parents,improve specific guidance.4.School family education guidance has a significant positive predictive effect on parenting style.Based on the above data analysis results,from the perspective of school guiding family education,for how to improve parenting style,cultivate children’s learning ability,some suggestions are put forward to promote the improvement of children’s academic performance,as follows:1.For parents to pay attention to family education is not enough,increase publicity,pay attention to family education.2.Aiming at the ineffectiveness of school and family education guidance,improve the relevant working mechanism.3.Optimize the mechanism and way of family education and guidance,and reasonably avoid negative parenting styles.4.In view of the lack of father’s role in family education,strengthen communication with students’ fathers. |
