China's current education system still takes academic performance as the main standard to measure students' ability. The factors that affect students' academic performance have always been the basic issues of pedagogical research. In academic circles, related studies are generally carried out from the aspects of students' own(cognitive characteristics, effort level, etc.),family background(family socio-economic status, parenting style, etc.)and school characteristics(school environment, teacher quality,etc.).Among many factors affecting students' academic performance, family is the place where children first come into contact, plays an important role in laying a foundation for students' development. Therefore, this study mainly discusses the influence of family background variables on students' academic performance. In this study,a high school in shihezi was selected as the basic research site, and some high school students were selected as research objects.Questionnaire survey and quantitative analysis method were mainly used for the research.Through correlation analysis, cross analysis and other methods to analyze the data, get the following conclusions:There was no significant correlation between parents' education level and children's academic performance. In each subject, the educational level of fathers' is significantly correlated with their children's English performance. The self-education expectation of most students in the research school is consistent with or close to that of their parents. However, when the two are different, selfeducation expectation plays a major role in academic performance.Based on the investigation of the school's enrollment and learning background,it can be seen that in an environment with insufficient learning atmosphere, students' self-education expectation is the main factor affecting their academic performance.Parental occupation is significantly correlated with children's academic performance. In families where parents are engaged in intensive occupation, their children's academic performance is significantly higher than that in other occupations; In families where parents are engaged in extensive career, their children's academic performance is significantly lower than that of other occupations. At the same time, occupation have some impact on the trait of thinking quality.Mothers who are engaged in business management reject and deny their children too much, making their children's performance lower than other occupations. There was no significant correlation between family income and academic performance. The funds invested in education have a significant impact on children's academic performance: having their own independent space is of great significance to students' growth and academic performance improvement;Too many toys are a risk of distraction, and the number of educational toys is negatively correlated with academic performance. There was a significant correlation between parenting style and language subjects.Chinese and English scores were significantly influenced by parental rearing patterns, while math scores were not significantly correlated with parental rearing patterns.Excessive interference and protection have the most negative impact on the results of students. In addition, there was no significant correlation between single parenting and academic performance. To sum up,in the same or similar class, static variables such as parents' education and family income level have limited influence on academic performance. The dynamic variables, such as students' self-education expectation, learning environment and parenting style, have the greatest influence on academic performance. For students in the research school,"self" is the most influential factor on their academic performance. Therefore, this paper suggests the following ways to improve academic performance: first,to achieve a consensus of educational expectations.Children's self-expectations should be respected. If parents have higher educational expectations for their children, they should improve their children's self-education expectations through communication,so as to improve their academic performance more effectively.Secondly,to provide independent thinking, learning and rest space, reduce excessive interference and overprotection, give high school students more trust;Thirdly, reduce distractions in the learning environment, reasonable purchase and proper placement of educational toys, improve the concentration of high school students.
