| In recent years,the coexistence of a number of chronic diseases in the elderly population has occurred frequently,which not only makes the elderly’s body suffer from the infestation of diseases for a long time,but also easily induces the elderly to be anxious,pessimistic,negative and other negative emotions.Based on rational emotion therapy and social support theory,this study explores the path of improving the emotional management awareness and ability of elderly patients with chronic diseases,and meets the emotional management needs of elderly patients with chronic diseases through the intervention of small groups.First of all,relying on the resources of the Shajing Street Internship Institution in Nanchang City,Jiangxi Province,from October to November 2021,the staff of the X community and the social work institution in Shajing Street were interviewed for more than one month,and the basic situation and emotional needs of 213 elderly patients with chronic diseases in the community were collected through observation and interview;Secondly,the analysis and summary of the emotional common needs of elderly patients with chronic diseases in the X community;subsequently,according to the materials collected in the previous period,9 eligible elderly patients with chronic diseases were selected to form an emotional management team,and semi-structured interviews were conducted to understand their deep emotional needs and carry out multiple group activities,based on the analysis results,a group plan was formulated,and the emotional management of elderly chronic disease patients was intervened from three aspects: emotional cognition,emotional expression and emotional regulation,and tried to enhance the elderly’s cognition of emotions and reasonably express emotions.Improve self-emotional management skills;finally,the effectiveness of emotional management group intervention is examined based on process evaluation and outcome evaluation in the group.According to the research process of the emotion management team,the following findings: First,the mental and emotional management needs of elderly patients with chronic diseases urgently need to be paid attention to.Second,group involvement helps to promote the social inclusion of older people with chronic diseases.Third,the team’s work has been effective in intervening in the emotional management of elderly patients with chronic diseases.According to the group’s intervention practice and later discussion and analysis,in the future,to enhance the awareness and ability of emotional management of elderly patients with chronic diseases,it is also necessary for social workers to strengthen their efforts from the following aspects: First,establish an individual-society overall management mechanism,promote the two-way efforts of individuals and society,and better provide corresponding services for elderly patients with chronic diseases.Second,integrate the resources within the group,promote the cross-circulation of various resources in the group,and better help the elderly patients with chronic diseases to achieve social integration.Third,develop the group leader within the group,give play to the organizational leadership role of the group leader,and continue to provide motivation and link resources for the group after the group ends,so as to ensure the depth and sustainability of the group’s intervention. |
