The Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education emphasise the importance of cultivating students’ moral and ethical cultivation and forming a sound personality through the language curriculum.The ancient poems in the language textbooks of the secondary school are rich in traditional etiquette and cultural resources.By consciously integrating the traditional etiquette and cultural knowledge implied in the texts and using the platform of the ancient poetry teaching classroom,we can give full play to the nurturing function of excellent traditional etiquette and cultural education,enhance students’ language literacy and This will enable students to develop correct values,a civilised outlook and a positive and healthy personality.However,in terms of the current situation of implementing traditional etiquette culture education in secondary school ancient poetry teaching,there are still problems such as incoherent content of traditional etiquette culture education,disconnection between cognitive education and nurturing education,inflexible educational methods and inconspicuous educational effects.Due to the lack of understanding of traditional etiquette culture and the lack of clarity in the responsibility of educational subjects in secondary school etiquette education,some teachers do not attach importance to traditional etiquette culture education in the teaching process,nor do they really realise the spiritual leading role of excellent traditional etiquette culture,and thus neglect to use ancient poems involving etiquette culture in teaching to cultivate students in enhancing civilisation and improving ideological quality.In order to change this situation,it is necessary to explore strategies for implementing traditional etiquette culture education in the teaching of ancient poetry in secondary schools.From the teacher’s perspective,the teaching objectives of traditional etiquette culture education should be formulated around the fundamental task of establishing moral education and the requirements for students’ moral education in the curriculum standards;diverse teaching methods should be adopted in class to bring into play the nurturing resources in ancient poetry and promote the national cultural spirit behind the etiquette culture;and the effect of nurturing traditional etiquette culture should be improved from point to point and from one example to another.From the student level,we should actively create an atmosphere of traditional etiquette culture in classes and classrooms,and promote a "harmonious but different" and courteous way of communication between teachers and students,as well as between students and teachers;collect artefacts to help students build a system of knowledge of etiquette culture,and at the same time "apply what they have learnt".We will also help students to build a body of knowledge on etiquette and culture,and at the same time "apply what they have learnt",urging them to become practitioners of civilised manners in the new era.From the school side,it is important to create an atmosphere of traditional etiquette culture;organise teachers to prepare school-based curriculum;and regulate students’ daily behaviour.
