The development of information technology has brought society into a new era of visual knowledge dissemination.At the same time,the upgrading of information technology requires vocational education to use information technology to improve teaching methods.As an effective tool for teaching and learning,knowledge visualization can enrich the means of classroom teaching and promote the combination of information technology and teaching.After reviewing literature at domestic and foreign,I discover most researches on knowledge visualization focus on theoretical research,visual representation research and application research.In the domestic research on the application of knowledge visualization to teaching,most literatures are about the teaching of general education subjects,and there are few researches on teaching of secondary vocational schools.Based on this situation,this research uses literature research method,classroom observation method,questionnaire survey method and interview method,apply knowledge visualization to "Tour guide service" course for teaching design and teaching implementation,so as to enrich the theoretical and practical research of knowledge visualization teaching in secondary vocational schools.This study first defines concepts such as knowledge visualization and instructional design,elaborates dual coding theory,knowledge management theory and constructivist learning theory.Secondly,questionnaire survey and interview were conducted between teachers and students in X Vocational Middle School in Kunming.The survey results show that the current application of knowledge visualization in the teaching of secondary vocational schools has the following problems: teachers and students have insufficient understanding of knowledge visualization,teachers pursue visualization form and downplay the content,students’ ability to learn knowledge visualization is weak,and there are many obstacles for teachers to use knowledge visualization.At the same time,it is also found that knowledge visualization has the following application values: in line with students’ cognitive development and learning style,in line with teachers and students’ habits and willingness,help to improve students’ learning effect,enrich teaching forms and means,and promote teachers’ professional development.Finally,considering with the characteristics of the "Tour guide service" course of X Vocational Middle School in Kunming and the learning situation of the 2019 tour guide class,this study designs and implements the teaching based on knowledge visualization.Through interviewing with teachers and students after class,it is further verified that the application of knowledge visualization in the teaching of "Tour guide service" can rich teaching methods,clear logical thinking,improve students’ interest in learning,and cultivate students’ autonomous learning ability.It affirms the scientificity and effectiveness of the application of knowledge visualization in the teaching of "Tour guide service".
