Nowadays, the aging process of China’s population is accelerating year by year.Population aging has become an important issue that our society needs to solve urgently.China began to implement the "National Medium and Long-Term Plan for Active response to population Aging" in 2020,which encourages elderly groups to actively face the ageing of the population and all sectors of society to actively cope with it in China. At the same time, with the rapid development of new media technology, digital life has gradually penetrated into the senior group, and some of the elderly groups have entered the digital life actively or passively.Overall, this is an era of both rapid digital development and an era of rapid growth of population aging.Using a combination of participant observation and in-depth interview methods, this paper takes village H in Jiansi County as the research area and the elderly group in this village as the research object, and conducts an in-depth study on the digital existence of the rural elderly group in village H.The paper consists of five chapters:the introductory section mainly expounds the significance and background of the study as well as the related research review;the first chapter depicts the communication picture of the elderly group in village H by describing the natural and humanistic environment of this village, the changes of media communication methods and the media life of the elderly in village H;the second chapter studies the active integration of the elderly in H village based on the urgent requirements of digital survival and the positive effects of digital integration;Chapter three explores the digital disconnection of the elderly in village H from three aspects, namely, the influence of the elderly group itself, family and social factors;Chapter four proposes corresponding development strategies for the aging of digital rural construction. It is found that the older people in village H are gradually using more and more forms of smart media and have the highest frequency of access to mobile smartphones. The digitalization of the society and the self-requirement of the elderly groups promote the integration of the elderly groups in village H into the smart life, resulting in a series of positive effects, but at the same time,“digital disconnection” in the rural elderly groups still exists. In order to improve the digital life of the rural elderly in China, this paper proposes specific measures for the digital village construction from three aspects: technical, personal and social.
