Study On Farmers’ Participation In Rural Residential Environment Improvement And Its Influencing Factors

The development level of rural residential environment in our country has lagged behind that of cities for a long time.With the improvement of material conditions,more and more rural residents have a higher pursuit of a clean and comfortable residential environment.important measure of appeal.In recent years,the improvement of rural residential environment has become an important part of the country’s promotion of rural development.The "Five-Year Action for Improvement of Rural Residential Environment Improvement" issued in 2020 put forward new requirements for improvement of rural residential environment improvement.At the same time,the government work report of that year pointed out that the development of ethnic areas and economically backward areas should be accelerated.Accelerating development is not limited to economic development.The improvement of rural residential environment is the top priority.The quality of rural residential environment is related to the happiness of rural residents in production and life,and also directly affects economic development.China has a vast territory,as a whole,the specific development levels vary across the country,and the development of rural residential environment work also has its own characteristics.Various difficulties will be encountered in the specific implementation of the residential environment governance policy.However,the governance of rural residential environment in ethnic minority areas is a weak link in environmental improvement.The exploration of the participation of residents in rural residential environment in ethnic minority areas will help to understand the needs of rural residents for residential environment,and it will also help to understand the needs of rural residents for the residential environment.In the dimension of hierarchy,it further promotes the overall development of local rural areas.Xuan’en County,Enshi Prefecture,Hubei Province belongs to the inhabited areas of ethnic minorities,and its economic development level is relatively backward.This paper takes Xuan’en County,Enshi Prefecture as the main research area,and selects some rural areas in Xuan’en County as the research object by sampling.The current situation of rural residential environmental governance in Xuan’en County was investigated,and the factors affecting the overall participation of farmers in residential environmental governance were studied in combination with residential environment theory,farmers’ behavioral choice theory,and cooperative governance theory.A total of 231 valid questionnaires were collected,and all valid samples were sorted and statistically analyzed.The effects of individual characteristics,family characteristics and personal perceptions of human settlements governance on farmers’ participation were analyzed using an ordered Logistic regression model.Through empirical analysis,nine significant influencing factors were obtained.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The overall cultural level of farmers is not high,and the subject consciousness of active participation in remediation is weak.(2)There is a lack of a complete and effective institutional system for the improvement of human settlements.(3)The publicity of relevant policies is not in place,and farmers do not understand the importance of the improvement of human settlements.(4)Farmers lack all kinds of capital support,and their ability to participate in remediation is low.(5)The enthusiasm of farmers with village cadres and party members to participate in governance is higher than that of other farmers.Through the research on farmers’ participation in the improvement of human settlements,this paper puts forward corresponding policy suggestions to further enhance the capital of farmers and strengthen their comprehensive ability to participate in the improvement of human settlements.It is hoped that the research in this paper can contribute to the improvement of the local and national similar rural residential environment improvement,further promote rural revitalization,and build beautiful villages.
