With the implementation of the "Chinese culture going global" strategy,spreading Chinese culture,telling Chinese stories well,and building cultural confidence become important measures to enhance soft power of Chinese culture.However,the current "Chinese economy going global" and "Chinese culture going global" do not match each other,due to the late start of the dissemination of Chinese culture and the lack of dissemination methods.Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages(TCSOL),as one of the crucial ways for "Chinese culture going global",is not able to meet the great demand for Chinese culture to spread around the world.Therefore,this paper takes Wang Yangming’s thought as an example to explore the feasible way of spreading Chinese traditional culture in TCSOL.This paper is mainly divided into the following three parts.First of all,with a reference to English translation of Wang Yangming’s classic,Chuan Xi Lu,and the academic researches on Wang’s philosophy published in the western countries,this paper studies and finds that although the dissemination of Wang’s thoughts in the Western world is becoming better,it still cannot meet the needs of its going abroad.Secondly,in order to improve the dissemination of Wang Yangming’s thought,this paper takes Wang Yangming’s "Qi" thought as the breakthrough point to clarify the different interpretation of "Qi" in Chinese and Western cultures,through the comparative analysis of "Qi" in Chinese and Western culture,and different translators’ English translation of "Qi" in Chuan Xi Lu.At the same time,this paper found by two kinds of comparison that the classification of "Qi" in English translation is roughly the same as Wang Yangming’s thought classification of "Qi",which is basically consistent with the classification of words related to "Qi" in the following vocabulary syllabus of Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi(HSK).This result showed that what is hidden behind the classification of "Qi" vocabulary is the Chinese "Qi" thought.Finally,in order to help the western form a correct cultural interpretation of Wang Yangming’s "Qi" thought,this paper sets up an elective course of Wang Yangming’s thought from the perspective of teaching,and introduces Wang Yangming’s thought based on the vocabulary teaching in HSK vocabulary syllabus.Furthermore,in this process,the "All-in-One" theory behind Wang Yangming’s "Qi" thought can be understood by students with combining multiple vocabulary networks.On this basis,this paper deeply interprets the differences between Chinese and Western cultures and strengthens students’ the sense of identity towards Chinese culture.At last,this paper also takes the dissemination of Wang Yangming’s thoughts in TCSOL as an example to provide suggestions for the dissemination of Chinese thought and culture in TCSOL,in order to enhance the dissemination of Chinese ideology and culture in teaching Chinese to speakers of languages.
