Online Teaching Design Of Beginner Comprehensive Chinese Course For Speakers Of Other Languages Based On Total Physical Response ——A Case Study Of He Is Learning To Cook Chinese Food

The outbreak of COVID-19 affects traditional classes greatly and many Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Languages（TCSOL）programs have to shift from offline to online.This thesis takes online teaching as the background,beginners’ comprehensive Chinese course as the research content,and uses TPR as the basic teaching method.Then the author finishes the teaching design of the HSK standard tutorial text "He is Learning to Cook Chinese Food" on the basis of her own teaching experience with Wukong Edu.This thesis may be divided into four parts:The first chapter is the introduction.It talks about teaching design,online teaching of Chinese to Speakers to other Languages,TPR teaching method,and research methodology.The second chapter is an overview of TPR teaching method,which introduces the theoretical basis,teaching principles,advantages,teaching procedures and conducts a feasibility analysis of TPR.The third chapter is the online teaching design of He is Learning to Cook Chinese Food,mainly including the analysis of the teaching design and the specific implementation process of the overall teaching design.Before the teaching design,the author mainly explains target audience,teaching materials,class type,teaching objectives and teaching content.In the actual teaching practice,He is Learning to Cook Chinese Food is divided into five periods and then the author unfolds the detailed teaching procedures.The fourth chapter is mainly about evaluation,reflection and suggestion.The evaluation is based on the questionnaire and the analysis of the test results.Based on the author’s own practical experience and data analysis results,the thesis puts forward the room for improvement in order to provide references for Chinese teachers who engage in online teaching.
