The meaning of life plays an important role for individuals to maintain their own positive psychological functions.Lack of the meaning of life will lead to psychological problems,and people with crisis of meaning may also have suicidal behavior.High school students are in adolescence,a critical period for their psychological and behavioral conflicts.High school students are in adolescence,a critical period for their psychological and behavioral conflicts.Due to the drastic changes in physical and mental development and emotional instability,high school students are prone to impulsive things.In recent years,self-harm and suicide among middle school students have frequently appeared in reports.The reason is the lack of the meaning of individual life,the lack of a clear life direction and goal,and then a crisis of meaning.Therefore,guiding middle school students to understand the meaning of life,treat life in a correct way,and tap their own development potential will help to promote high school students’ mental health and face life positively.This study aims to investigate the current characteristics and influencing factors of high school students and propose effective strategies to promote their meaning of life significance.Realize that social support and self-esteem levels are both positive psychological qualities of an individual.This study focuses on the relationship between perceived social support and the crisis of meaning and the mediating role of self-esteem and meaning of life between both.Combining the two methods of questionnaire and interview to conduct research,using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support,the Crisis of Meaning Scale,the Meaning in Life Questionnaire and the Self-esteem Scale,1107 high school students were surveyed in a convenient way.Take the test.Using IBM SPSS 21.0 to process the data,analyze the differences in the demographic variables and the correlation between the comprehension social support,self-esteem level,life meaning and meaning crisis,and use MPLUS7.4 to test the mediating effect of self-esteem level and life meaning,and the results are as follows:(1)The meaning of life,the crisis of meaning and the perception of social support and the self-esteem are all above-medium level;(2)There are significant gender differences in having meaning,with males scoring significantly more meaningful than females.The pursuit of meaning decreases with grade.There are significant differences in grades of meaning crisis,the level of meaning crisis of senior three students is higher than that of senior one and senior two,and the level of senior two students is the lowest;(3)The perceived social support differs significantly in grades,and the scores of perceived social support of senior two students are significantly higher than those of senior one and senior three.The self-esteem level of senior high school students varies significantly in grades,and the self-esteem level of senior two students is significantly higher than that of senior one students;(4)the perceived of social support,the crises of meaning,self-esteem levels,and the meaning of life are related in pairs;(5)Self-esteem levels and meaning in life play a chain mediating role between perceived social support and meaning crises.Understand that social support mediates the crisis of meaning through self-esteem,understands that social support mediates the crisis of meaning through the meaning of life,and understands that social support mediates the crisis of meaning through self-esteem and meaning of life.
