| In recent years,China’s education level continues to improve,the educational environment is increasingly optimized,but the spiritual level of college students because of the lack of sense of meaning of life and the phenomenon of "hollow disease".The lack of a sense of meaning in life can cause emptiness and boredom,which can lead to depression and even suicide.Meaning of life education has become an urgent need to be improved in colleges and universities.Exploring the mechanism of meaning of life can provide theoretical support for this,and provide an effective way to prevent and cure "hollow disease".Self-compassion is a new favorite of Chinese and Western cultural exchanges in recent years,which has a positive impact on individuals’ physical and mental health and behavior.Therefore,this study attempts to explore the impact of self-compassion on college students’ sense of life meaning,and includes two variables of perceived social support and psychological resilience to explore the internal mechanism,hoping to provide effective basis for college students’ sense of life meaning education.In this study,convenient sampling method was adopted to select students from five universities in Heilongjiang,Shandong and Jiangsu provinces as research objects.The paper version and electronic version were combined for all samples,and 580 questionnaires were collected,of which 529 were valid,with an effective rate of 91.2%.The questionnaires included Self-compassion Scale(SCS),Meaning in Life Questionnaire(MLQ),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS),and Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC).Descriptive statistics and independent samples were used in the study.The results of statistical methods such as T test,F test,correlation analysis,regression analysis and mediation effect test are as follows:(1)There are significant differences in some demographic variables among college students’ self-compassion,perceived social support,resilience and sense of life meaning.(2)There are significant positive correlations among four variables of college students’ self-compassion,perceived social support,psychological resilience and sense of life meaning.(3)College students’ self-compassion can positively predict meaning in life,perceived social support and resilience.Perceived social support can positively predict resilience and meaning in life.Resilience can positively predict meaning in life.(4)Perceived social support and resilience have partial mediating effects on the relationship between self-compassion and life meaning.(5)Perceived social support and resilience play a chain mediating role in the relationship between self-compassion and sense of life meaning.The results show that self-compassion can directly affect the sense of meaning of life,and indirectly affect meaning in life through the perceived social support,resilience or the chain mediation of the two. |
