The Relationship Between Alienation And Sence Of Life In University Students:the Mediating Role Of Perceived Social Support And Optimism

Objectives:Investigate the influence in which the alienation of college students has an effect to life meaning, and test the medition effect from perceived social support and optimism between the alienation and the life meaning.An the same time,further study whether the medition role of perceived social support and optimism in between the alienation and the life meaning is parallel medium or chain intermediary.Methods: The randomized sampling is the method which has been used in the study.430 college students from a certain university is the sample.The Alienation from College Students of Scale, the Scale of Perceived Social Support,the Life Orientation Test-Revised and the Meaning in Life Questionnaire are used in the test in order to collect valid data.Make full use of the software SPSS 21.0 and Bootstrap.Use the statistic method of independent samples t-test and correlation analysis and medition effect test.At last,process and analysis the collected data.Results:(1)The score of every question in the dimension of environmental alienation is 3.488 on the average.The score of every question in the dimension of interpersional alienation is 2.500 on the average.The score of every question in the dimension of self alienation is 2.061.The score of every question in the dimension of cultural value alienation is 3.046.The average score of the total alienation is 2.756.They are below the midpoint 4 points of the every dimension;(2)There is a significant statistical difference in the environmental alienation and the total alienation about the gender demographic variables(t=2.182,p<0.05;t=2.122,p<0.05);There is no significant in the gender demographic variables in the dimensions of interpersonal alienation,self alienation and curtual value alienation(t=1.123,p>0.05;t=1.178,p>0.05;t=1.292, p>0.05);(3)The dimension of environmental alienation,interpersonal alienation,self alienation,cultural value alienation, total alienation and the life meaning is extremely significant negative correlation(r=-0.150,p<0.01;r=-0.215,p<0.01;r=-0.375,p<0.01; r=-0.364,p<0.01;r=-0.362,p<0.01);(4)The dimension of environmental alienation, alienation,self alienation,cultural value alienation, total alienation and perceived social support is extremely significant negative correlation(r=-0.179,p<0.01;r=-0.517,p<0.01;r=-0.473,p<0.01;r=-0.359,p<0.01;r=-0.513,p<0.01);(5)The dimension of environmental alienation,interpersonal alienation,self alienation,cultural value alienation,total alienation and optimistic is extremely significant negative correlation(r=-0.206,p<0.01;r=-0.290,p<0.01;r=-0.654,p<0.01;r=-0.354,p<0.01;r=-0.494,p<0.01);(6)The perceived social support from college students and optimistic is extremely significant positive correlation(r=0.343,p<0.01);(7)The life meaning from college students,perceived social support and optimistic is extremely significant positive correlation(r=0.322,p<0.01;r=0.350,p<0.01);(8)Perceived social support has a significant medition effect on alienation and life meaning,the proportion of the total effect is 22.9%;(9)Optimistic has a significant medition effect on alienation and life meaning,the proportion of the total effect is 28.2%;(10)Perceived social support and optimistic have a significant parallel medium effect between alienation and life meaning,the effect quantity of the total medium effect is 51.1%,but the effect quantity from the chain medition of perceived social support to optimistic is 3.6%.Conclusions:(1)The every dimension of alienation from college students and the total score is in a moderately low degree,and the alienation from college students is not very common;(2)The environmental alienation from male students is higher than femal students,and the total alienation from male students is higher than femal students;(3)The alienation and life meaning have a significant negative correlation,the higher the alienation,the lower life meaning;(4)The alienation and perceived social support have a significant negative correlation,the higher the alienation,the lower perceived social support;(5)The alienation and optimistic have a significant negative correlation,the higher the alienation,the lower optimistic;(6)The life meaning and perceived social support have a significant positive correlation,the higher the life meaning,the morer the perceived social support;(7)The life meaning and optimistic have a significant positive correlation,the higher the life meaning,the morer optimistic;(8)The perceived social support and optimistic have an effect of a parallel medium between the alienation and life meaning,the alienation can not only directly predict the life meaning,but also indirectly predict the life meaning through perceived social support or optimistic.
