Study Of The Female Body Presentation In The "Madame White Snake" Series

According to statistics,from the 1920 s to the present,there are up to 24 film and television works with the theme of "Madame White Snake",which has become the folk story with the largest number of remakes.Its huge volume and long-time span are enough to attract the attention of the author.This thesis will take the "Madame White Snake" series of film and television works as the research object,and analyze the reconstruction and interpretation of the female character’s body in different times,different regions,and different directors from three aspects of the miraculous,deified,and stylized female body,aiming at exploring the profound gender cultural connotation contained in the body diversity presentation.This paper will discuss from the following three parts:In the first part,the author will analyze the main features of the women’s miraculous body in the "Madame White Snake" series of films and television works from the perspective of barbarism and pornography,and uncover the female body under the shell of folklore.The second part will examine the deification of the female body in the "Madame White Snake" series of film and television works.With the unique fertility of women and the magic power of the snake demon as the starting point,it will analyze how the female body has been upgraded from the mediocre and ordinary housewife to the great mother god full of female life experience and even the savior with the spirit of resistance and sacrifice.The third part will discuss how the female stylized body is constructed in the "White Snake" series of film and television works: for example,in the pursuit of traditional opera films,the strict requirements of traditional opera art on the body;Through the bride in the traditional wedding ceremony,it shows the discipline of the etiquette system on the female body.All these make the female body in the film show stylized characteristics.The content of the graduation project is to draw a series of animated posters of "Women · Mechanized Body" with the theme of "Madame White Snake",which mainly shows the female body of the new era in which tradition and modernity coexist.The design idea will start with the transformation of the female body by the development of modern technology,draw on the excellent science fiction poster and illustration art,and draw on its excellent composition and color for creation.At the same time,on this basis,it integrates the ancient cultural elements that can resonate in the traditional "Biography of the White Snake" text,and on the basis of national cultural identity,it shows the unique Chinese female body that combines ancient and modern.Finally,the author hopes to try to put forward relevant suggestions for the design of female body in China’s future film and television works through the problems currently discussed,and especially hopes to arouse the attention of relevant Chinese literary and artistic workers to female body through research,and integrate their own cultural advantages to innovate,so as to promote a more diversified,modern and Chinese female body.
