| Mount Putuo is known as the "Sea and Sky Buddha Kingdom".The mountains, rocks, trees, temple pagodas, cliff carvings, and the sound of bells and waves are all full of the mysterious color of the Buddha Kingdom. It can be said that "there are fairy mountains on the sea,and the mountains are in the ethereal world",and it is the enlightenment site of Guanyin Bodhisattva. It can be said that it occupies a pivotal position in the history of communication of the development of Buddhism Guanyin belief. If we talk about the relevant literature that can best witness and witness the rise and fall of Buddhism in Mount Putuo,it is none other than the historical records of Mount Putuo.Since the beginning of the compilation of the records of Mount Putuo in the "Biography of Butuoluojia Mountain" by Sheng Ximing of the Yuan Dynasty, there have been many sages before the Hewu era.To the Republic of China period,a total of eight versions have been compiled. The continuous compilation of these versions is probably not only related to the outstanding contributions made by Mount Putuo to the dissemination of Buddhist beliefs and culture mentioned above, but also closely related to the important significance of mountain records in the Buddhist culture of Mount Putuo. However, based on the information currently collected in this topic, although many scholars have conducted various studies on Buddhist local chronicles, there is still great room for exploration in the study of mountain chronicles of the four famous mountains. Therefore, drawing on previous academic achievements, this paper intends to conduct an in-depth and systematic investigation of many versions of mountain records of Putuo Mountain before the Republic of China, and combine the research methods and perspectives of religious studies, philology, historiography, local chronicles and other disciplines.Exploring the differences in the versions of local chronicles,as well as the value of historical materials,Buddhist studies, and contemporary development and utilization. In Chapter 2,the differences in the versions of different mountain chronicles from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China were mainly examined. In Chapter 3,the content of the entire mountain stele of Putuo Mountain was explored, revealing the many values of the stele style, and exploring the thoughts and beliefs of Guanyin.A clearer discussion was made on its famous mountain construction, ideological dissemination, and specific practice. The tourism value and compilation value of local chronicles were also analyzed,Clarified the different compilation backgrounds and purposes of mountain chronicles, and counted many useful empirical values.I hope to provide relevant academic achievements and make certain academic contributions to the development, application, and compilation of local chronicles of tourism in the Putuo region in the future. In the end, research shows that from the Yuan Dynasty to the Republic of China, the development trend of historical versions is generally reflected in the inheritance, continuity, and innovation of local chronicles. The Yuan Dynasty pioneered the structure and style of the Putuo Mountain Annals, which became the first major breakthrough in the Ming Dynasty. From the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, the overall structure was smooth and stable, gradually improving and shaping. From the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,it was the second innovative breakthrough in the compilation of local chronicles. The value of mountain chronicles,in short,is clearly a profound reflection on specific contents such as the history of Buddhist thought, religion, humanities and society, and the compilation of local chronicles. It is an excellent window to explore the interaction between Buddhism and society. |
