As one of the four major links in the process of second language teaching,textbook compilation plays a very important role in the process of Chinese as a foreign language.The selection of articles in textbooks,as the top priority in textbook writing,has always been the focus of textbook research.Based on this,this article focuses on the selection of articles in Chinese language textbooks for foreigners,examining two representative advanced comprehensive textbooks of the same period-"Developing Chinese Language-Advanced Comprehensive" and "The Road to Success-Sprint Chapter".It conducts research and analysis from three aspects: difficulty arrangement,form arrangement,and content arrangement of the selection of articles in the two textbooks.Based on the actual situation of the arrangement of these aspects,it proposes thoughts and suggestions for Chinese language textbooks for foreigners.This article believes that both sets of textbooks have a relatively high overall difficulty in arranging the difficulty of selecting articles.At the same time,the difficulty level between classes is inconsistent,and there is no regular connection between them.But from the perspective of individual difficulty influencing factors,each textbook has its own reference points.In terms of the format and arrangement of the selected text,the emphasis on illustrations in textbooks varies depending on the content of the textbook.At the same time,the overall orientation of illustrations towards the beginning and middle of the text lacks the ability to summarize and summarize illustrations at the end.The overall genre arrangement of the textbook tends to focus on narrative and prose articles.Except for some basic genres,articles in genres such as poetry and practical official documents have not been included.In terms of the content arrangement of the selected text,overall,the arrangement of topics and cultural factors in the selected text meets the rich and diverse characteristics required by the teaching materials of Chinese as a foreign language.But each textbook has its own emphasis on topics and cultural factors.Based on the above research conclusions,this article proposes its own thoughts and corresponding suggestions for the compilation of Chinese as a foreign language textbooks from three major aspects: the difficulty of selecting articles,the arrangement of form,and the arrangement of content.
