With the development of globalization and China’s comprehensive national power,Chinese,as the most spoken language in the world,is going beyond its own country to the world.The international Chinese language education industry is developing rapidly in the global field,with an increasing number of Chinese language learners and a decreasing age of beginners.Overseas children have become an important group for Chinese language learning.In particular,the coming of the epidemic era has made it difficult to develop offline teaching,while the rapid progress of internet technology has provided new possibilities for online teaching.Compared with traditional teaching methods,online Chinese teaching helps teachers and students transcend time and space limitations,and also helps make up for the shortage of the number of local professional teachers and the uneven distribution of teaching resources,promoting the development of Chinese teaching by distance learning.Nowadays,online Chinese teaching has become an important means of boosting the development of international Chinese education.From the perspective of both teaching and learning,the study of real cases of online Chinese teaching is helpful to clarify the actual characteristics and needs of overseas children’s Chinese learning,as well as to discover the problems and directions of improvement in online Chinese teaching,and to provide reference for the long-term development of international Chinese education.This paper mainly uses classroom observation method,audio-video transcription analysis method,case study method and interview method to find out the characteristics and problems of online Chinese teaching for overseas children through detailed analysis of two Chinese learners and interviews with teachers,learners and parents.The first introductory chapter introduces the background of this paper,the significance of the study,the research review,the theoretical foundation,the research content and methodology,which clarifies the realistic development and finds the theoretical support for the relevant topics of this study.The second chapter is an analysis of the characteristics of overseas children’s Chinese learning,mainly illustrating the unique learning characteristics of this group from the audience’s perspective,which is an important reference basis for online Chinese teaching.Chapter 3 is an analysis of online Chinese teaching cases.The author analyzes the current situation of online Chinese teaching for overseas children,explains the current mainstream online Chinese teaching platforms and teaching organization forms,selects the well-known private teaching platform "Wukong Chinese" as the main reference point,and analyzes its typical value.We also analyze the transcription and evaluation of their online Chinese classroom recordings with two children Chinese learners living in France and Australia as representatives.Chapter 4 expands the outreach on the basis of the case study analysis,and digs deeper into the universal problems of online Chinese teaching for overseas children by means of interviews,as well as the typical teaching problems reflected by the online Chinese teaching cases.Accordingly,based on the existing problems,Chapter 5 proposes a general path to improve the quality of online Chinese teaching for overseas children from the perspectives of technical personnel,teaching platforms,Chinese teachers,and students’ parents,and the teaching design of new lessons is targeted from the level of problem improvement.The concluding chapter introduces the findings,significance and shortcomings of this study,and provides an outlook on the future development of online Chinese language teaching.Although online Chinese language teaching faces many challenges in practice,it is undeniable that it has expanded the audience of Chinese language teaching and provided more Chinese learners living abroad with the opportunity to receive Chinese language education in their home countries,and is an important force that cannot be ignored in promoting the development of Chinese language teaching.This study,despite its shortcomings,explores the characteristics and needs of overseas children who are mainly of Chinese descent in learning Chinese through analyzing and evaluating and reflecting on overseas children’s online Chinese teaching cases,discovers the problem areas and progress directions of online Chinese teaching,and tries to make an ideal teaching design,which plays a role in enriching and learning from the development of Chinese teaching in a larger and deeper extent in the future,and has certain practical significance.This is of some practical significance.
