Richard Diebenkorn was one of the important representative painters of American abstract expressionism painting in the middle of the 20 th century.After the Second World War,as the world art center moved to New York,Modern art in the United States developed and many modern artists created and painted excellent modern art works,while abstract expressionism painting movement developed rapidly at this time.Many painters began to create abstract paintings,and action painting and gamut painting led by Pollock and Rothko emerged.Influenced by these painters in this artistic environment,Diebenkorn began to paint abstract paintings,but in his abstract paintings,Diebenkorn had unique views on the expression of figurative elements.He sought for the interrelation between the concrete and the abstract,the objective and the subjective,and this collision formed his unique painting style.This paper analyzes and studies the expression forms of objective images in Diebenkorn’s abstract paintings,aiming to explore how artists rationally express objective images in abstract paintings dominated by subjective emotion expression,and how the relationship between the alternate existence of the two is generated.The text is divided into five parts,The first part mainly expounds the important influences of the trauma of the war and the subsequent economic development on the transformation of artists’ creative ideas as the world art center moved to New York after the Second World War;The second part mainly summarizes the formation process of Diebenkorn’s painting concept,Mainly from the growth of Diebenkorn and different periods of painting form of the transformation of the two aspects of his induction analysis;The third part is about how the rational representation of objective objects in Diebenkorn’s abstract paintings is reflected in the paintings of different periods,especially the compression of observation space and the choice of perspective,the expression of composition,the use of color,the use of graphic symbols and the use of lines in the abstract paintings of the early Albuquerque period and the late Ocean Park period.The fifth part is explain how to sublimate the emotion in Diebenkorn’s abstract paintings.The sixth part is mainly discusses the enlightenment of Diebenkorn’s abstract paintings to the current Chinese painting,from the spiritual origin of painting、the transformation of the objective and subjective form of painting and the relationship between painting and nature.
