This article mainly expounds the influence of the geometric shapes shown by Richard Diebenkorn(1922-1993)in his paintings and the artistic concept behind them on the author’s creation.Diebenkorn was an American post-war artist.His painting style went through three stages: the first stage was abstract painting during the Berkeley period from 1947 to 1955;the second stage was figurative painting in the Bay Area from 1955 to 1967;the third stage was 1967 to 1988 The abstract art of Ocean Park,its artistic language is constantly wandering between abstraction and figuration.His painting language started from abstract expressionism,developed into figurative art,and finally returned to the expression of abstract art.This article is mainly divided into three major chapters.Firstly,the author introduces the artist’s life and experience,discusses the formation and development of Diebenkorn’s art,and expounds the expression techniques of geometric language in his paintings;secondly,analyzes the geometry of objects from Diebenkorn’s paintings The transformation,the refinement and organization of the graphics,and the geometrical composition of the color blocks are analyzed separately.Finally,the author combine Diebenkorn’s modeling language with the author’s practical experience in artistic creation to show and explain the final presentation in my personal works.Changes in artistic concept and picture form.
