A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Practice Of 2021 Audi E-Tron&Audi E-Tron Sportback Launch Event From The Perspective Of The Interpretive Theory

Nowadays,environmental problems are worsening,seriously affecting human survival and development.To this end,countries have put forward green development and green life initiatives,and the automobile industry continues to launch new energy vehicles in response to the call of green living.Taken from the video of 2021 Audi E-tron & Audi E-tron Sportback Launch Event,the corpus enjoys the following characteristics: embedded with professional terms,culture-loaded words,different speakers with various speaking habits and run-on sentences,etc.,which,to some extent,bring difficulties to the work of simultaneous interpreting.Put forward by the Paris School,the Interpretive Theory is an innovation in interpreting research.Centered on the concept that interpreting should deverbalize the source text,the Interpretive Theory holds that the interpreters should first seize the meaning of the original text with the help of cognition and context,and then re-express the meaning of the original text through various interpreting skills.Under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,the report analyzes the simulated simultaneous interpreting for 2021 Audi E-tron & Audi E-tron Sportback Launch Event.In the practice,the author finds that intensive terminologies and culture-loaded words in interpreting can hinder comprehension and re-expression.The lack of professional knowledge in the automotive industry is an important factor affecting the interpreters’ understanding of the source text.Influenced by the mother tongue,Chinese,interpreters tend to fall into the trap of looking for equivalent interpreting,“literal interpreting” and “rigid interpreting” when dealing with culture-loaded words.Therefore,based on “comprehension”,“deverbalization” and “re-expression” of the Interpretive Theory,the author establishes her own analytical framework: the author first explores the obstacles to the comprehension of the source text and the methods so as to reduce the difficulties in understanding from culture-loaded words,figure of speech and information prediction;secondly,she analyzes how to “deverbalize” from the lexical,syntactic and textual levels;finally,for “re-expression”,she adopts three interpreting strategies to make the interpreting more in line with native English.Starting from the Interpretive Theory,this report makes an expanding thinking.Through the analysis of typical examples,the author elaborates the difficulties in the process of comprehension,deverbalization and re-expression and proposes corresponding interpreting strategies and thoughts in the hope to provide reference for future interpreting practice and lessons for interpreting learners.
