| Multimodal teaching is a new teaching mode that gradually emerged in practice based on the development of multimodal discourse theory,which was mainly applied to English teaching at the beginning and gradually shifted to the field of international Chinese education teaching through a period of development,and this mode acting on teaching practice has revealed its advantages since the time of shifting.It requires teachers to design and use pictures,sounds,objects,videos,etc.in their teaching process,with both eyes and expressions,so as to teach in such a way as to mobilize students’ senses and accomplish the optimal teaching effect.At present,it is clear from the collected literature that the multimodal teaching mode is focused on exploring the use of single-skill lesson types,and there are fewer studies on online Chinese audio-visual lessons.This study takes an online advanced Chinese audio-visual course for international students as an example to explore the application of this teaching mode in the online Chinese classroom.First,the background and significance of the study are elaborated,and the theoretical basis,advantages and disadvantages of the multimodal teaching mode are introduced in the light of the current research status of multimodal teaching.Then,based on the practical observations in teaching,we summarize the teaching principles and the suitability of this model for online audiovisual classroom,and then list the modern media technologies used in online Chinese audiovisual classes.A class of international students in an online advanced Chinese audio-visual class was selected as the teaching experiment,and a complete online classroom teaching process was written using the multimodal teaching model.Finally,the teaching results of one academic year were compared and analyzed in four dimensions: online classroom feedback,questionnaire analysis,teacher-student interview results,and performance data study,to jointly explore the meaning and effectiveness of multimodal teaching mode in online Chinese audio-visual speaking classes in international Chinese education.The relevant results show that in the actual teaching process,the teaching process of the online Chinese audio-visual speaking class can be taught in three skill sub-skills: visual,listening and speaking,which can improve students’ written performance.This study not only reflects the adoption of modality in online Chinese audiovisual speaking classes,but also provides concrete and applicable suggestions for future teaching of online Chinese audiovisual speaking courses. |
