| During the teaching process,the author found that the online live teaching mode had brought a series of challenges to the teaching of Chinese characters,mainly including the difficulty for teachers to grasp the writing situation of students in real time,the low completion rate of students’ homework after class,the limitation of the arrangement and correction of Chinese characters practice homework,the low interest of students in learning Chinese characters,the poor interaction between teachers and students,the obvious differentiation of students,and the excessive dependence of students on pinyin,etc.In order to solve these problems,this paper intends to apply Chinese character APP into the elementary Chinese online lessons to assist Chinese character teaching.The author has tried out the existing Chinese character learning apps one by one,taking into account factors such as the characteristics of teaching objects,teaching needs,and the scientific nature of the app content,and finally selected four Chinese character learning apps.The four mobile apps are "Chinese: Learn Chinese easily"," Baby Learning Chinese Characters-Pictographic literacy software for Baby to Learn Chinese Characters","Noodle Chinese" and "Chinese Character Card".Taking 14 students from Class B,Grade 8,of the Eduardo Simiao Weihua International School as research subjects,this study explored the auxiliary role and effective application models of Chinese character APP in online Chinese character teaching at the primary stage through action research.After two rounds of action research,it is concluded that using Chinese character apps to assist online Chinese character teaching can enhance the fun of Chinese character teaching,improve students’ enthusiasm for Chinese character learning,increase Chinese character memorization efficiency and teaching efficiency,solve the problem of difficult assignment and correction of Chinese character exercises,help carry out differentiated teaching,improve the efficiency of students’ stroke order memorization,and so on.It can effectively solve the problems faced by online Chinese character teaching at the primary stage.However,the application of Chinese character learning apps to assist online Chinese character teaching in the primary stage also has some shortcomings,such as scattered function of Chinese character learning software,high charge of some software,rigid learning sequence of Chinese character,limitations of mobile phone system and so on.Finally,based on the results and reflections of the two rounds of action research in this paper,some suggestions are put forward for Chinese teachers in selecting Chinese character learning apps and using Chinese character learning apps to assist Chinese character teaching. |
