With the rapid development of English education,The traditional overall teaching design of primary school English units has been unable to meet the requirements of education reform in the new era.It is mentioned in the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education in 2022.Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,based on the requirements for the development of core qualities.Select important concepts,thematic content and basic knowledge,design course content,strengthen the connection between content and educational objectives,and optimize the form of content organization.Set up interdisciplinary theme learning activities,strengthen the correlation between disciplines,and drive the comprehensive implementation of courses ".The concept of discipline is in line with this teaching concept."Subject concept" has been widely used in teaching practice by teachers,and once became a hot topic in the educational circle.The concept of discipline has the value of high generality and content integration,which is applicable to multiple subjects and has the characteristics of interdisciplinary.When designing the teaching process of primary school English teachers,they can not only be limited to the subject ontology,but also integrate and unify with Chinese,mathematics,fine arts,ethics and legal system,music and other courses.The educational value of "subject concept" can continuously affect students’ conduct,moral character and performance behavior.Integrating the concept into the overall teaching design of primary school English units is the only way for teachers to cultivate students’ English discipline literacy,highlight the educational value and deepen the reform of English teaching.However,there are still many puzzles in the overall teaching design of primary school English units based on the concept of subject.There are still some limitations in the cognition,design and practice of the "concept of subject" of primary school English teachers,and the overall teaching design scheme of primary school English units under the concept of subject is still challenging.This study as a whole language teaching theory and teaching theory as a foundation for research,from the big concepts for primary school English teachers based on the five aspects of unit teaching design,the integrated use of questionnaire investigation,interview method,experimental research methods,such as the E city area A primary schools,152 primary school English teachers present situation investigation,Then,according to the results of the current investigation,in-depth analysis is made to generate the overall teaching design strategy of primary school English units based on the concept of subject,so as to optimize the content of the strategy.The research results show that there are six problems in the overall teaching design of primary school English units based on the concept of subject.The first problem is teaching materials.Teachers are not able to deeply understand the essence of the textbook and lack the connection between big concepts,units and topics.The second is to set goals.There is no obvious progression between the overall teaching goal and the goal of a single class period.Third,it is the integration of unit content.It is difficult to reorganize units under the big concept of discipline,and the cognition has certain limitations.Fourth,the teaching process.There are various teaching activities designed by teachers,but there are not many activities to cultivate higher order thinking.Fifth,teachers’ consciousness.The understanding of students’ internal needs is not in place,and only pay attention to external needs.Sixth,in the aspect of teaching evaluation,the phenomenon of paying attention to the final evaluation still exists.Based on the above investigation and study,the researchers launched a big unit as a whole concept of primary school English teaching design of generating strategies,one is a large academic concepts in the design of the whole teaching in primary school English unit selection criteria,the second is subject big concept in the design of the whole teaching in primary school English unit extraction approach,big three is discipline concept in the design of the whole teaching in primary school English unit value,Fourth,the model research of the subject concept in the overall teaching design of primary school English units.According to the above generation strategies,there are six main optimization strategies proposed in this study.First,in-depth analysis of teaching materials to grasp the context of unit themes.Second,enhance the consciousness of unit reorganization and implement the whole teaching design of unit.Third,set up the question system and design the unit teaching activities.Fourth,focus on content and effectively promote knowledge transfer.Fifth,create the real situation,expand the students’ field of vision.Sixth,the evaluation is oriented to literacy,and the design of multiple evaluation methods.In a word,the overall teaching design of primary school English units based on the concept of discipline can solve the problems existing in traditional teaching and improve the core quality of students.Integrating the subject concept into the overall teaching design of primary school English units can give full play to the essence of teaching and promote the value of subject education. |
