| In April 2022,the Ministry of Education issued the 2022 Edition of Compulsory Education Curriculum Plan and Curriculum Standards(hereinafter referred to as the New Curriculum Standards),which requires the cultivation of students’ core qualities.According to the study of the new curriculum standard,the proportion of English class hours in the new curriculum standard is 6-8%.Considering the class hours of other subjects,the class hours of English are arranged in the third from the bottom.As a matter of fact,the difficulty of English learning continues to increase,which not only meets the requirement of "double reduction",but also promotes the development of students’ core qualities based on limited class hours.The situation requires teachers to update teaching methods and improve teaching efficiency.The large unit teaching,which comes into being with the proposal of core literacy,is an important way to break the disadvantages of traditional English teaching and develop students’ core literacy.Through the literature collection,it is found that the current research on large unit teaching in primary school Chinese is gradually mature,and there are few related studies on primary school English,indicating that large unit teaching is a relatively new concept in the direction of primary school English.And the application of large unit teaching in the actual English classroom of senior primary schools is not mature.By reading and referring to relevant literature and cases of large unit teaching,this study clarifies the implementation path of large unit teaching and further elaborates on how to carry out large unit teaching in order to form a clearer idea of carrying out large unit teaching in senior English classes of primary school.Through questionnaire survey and interview with students and teachers,this paper analyzes the current situation of English teaching in senior primary schools and finds out the existing problems in English classes in primary schools.Through the analysis of the causes of the problems,combined with the advantages of large unit teaching,the feasibility of large unit teaching provides facts and theoretical basis.Before the implementation of large unit teaching,the author selected two English learning level classes to carry out large unit teaching and regular teaching respectively through the comparison of the final scores of the last semester.After the unit learning,the author made the comparison through unit detection,and analyzed the effectiveness of large unit teaching through the scores.Then,according to the clear implementation path of large unit teaching,teaching PEP English to people,Grade 5,Unit3 What would you like? Carry out large unit teaching design,and teach in experimental class according to the design content,in order to provide case reference for primary school English teaching of large unit.Through this study,the author concludes that we should pay attention to students’ learning situation and teach students according to their aptitude.On the basis of the new curriculum standard,refine the theme of large units;Based on teaching objectives,adjust teaching content design;Combining with the reality of students’ life,highlighting the teaching situation design;Based on the core quality,design large unit teaching activities;Focus on evaluation design,timely summary and reflection of the primary school senior English large unit teaching path.It is hoped that it can provide new ideas for English teaching in senior primary schools,and provide theoretical support and practical cases for the development of large unit teaching in English teaching in primary schools,so that teachers can refer to it. |
