In recent years,primary school English began to pay attention to the overall teaching design of units.The overall design of unit teaching requires teachers to grasp the overall characteristics of teaching materials,according to the different contents of teaching material,plate movement and the characteristics of the teaching task,the overall design and arrangement of unit teaching activities.Grammar is the foundation of language use,it is the framework of language works,no grammar,people communicate recognized form,there is no consistency,cannot constitute a language,so the grammar teaching is essential content of language teaching.In primary school,students should understand the meaning and usage of grammar in a specific context,and can understand the semantic function of grammar in practice.This study in primary school English grammar teaching activities as the research object,on the basis of fully absorbing others research results,to explore how the unit as a whole,and to optimize the design of the primary school English grammar teaching activities,set up for children from "knowledge" to "use" of the bridge.This paper adopts the methods of action research,survey research,comparative study,the primary school attached to Nanjing Xiaozhuang University as the research object,based on the questionnaires and interviews,found that the whole unit of grammar teaching achievements,the whole unit of grammar teaching content the service life of the whole unit,grammar teaching to enhance students' interest in learning English grammar,grammar teaching unit,to achieve a cross unit grammar knowledge.At the same time,there are several problems in the teaching of unit holistic grammar.One is that teachers lack systematic understanding of unit holistic grammar teaching.Two,there is a lack of systematic design for unit holistic grammar teaching,and the three is that the whole teaching evaluation form of unit is too single.In order to better carry out the unit grammar teaching,the author puts forward a series of strategies to improve the unit grammar teaching.The main includes:first,let teachers have a new understanding of the overall teaching design of the unit.Specifically,it includes:carrying out comprehensive learning needs analysis,completing the first step of construction,conducting learner analysis,providing students with motivation to learn grammar,strengthening learning content analysis,and preparing for teaching design links.The two is to improve the whole grammar teaching link of the unit.It includes:Based on the unit theme,defining the topic and content of grammar teaching in every class hour,highlighting the goal of unit grammar teaching,formulating the goal of grammar teaching in every class hour,and systematically designing the class hour of grammar teaching.The three is to improve the overall grammar teaching evaluation of the unit.Specifically,we set up an evaluation system that takes students and teachers as the main body.Each class evaluation is unified with unit evaluation.After that,the practice of unit grammar teaching is carried out,and the overall idea and specific content of the unit grammar teaching design are discussed.The practice results show that in the teaching process of primary school English grammar,unit whole teaching can not only improve students' abilities in learning process,but also improve teachers'teaching ability.
