The Study On Wu Rulun’s Poetic Thoughts And Poetry Creation

Wu Rulun was the core figure who led the Tongcheng Poetry during the reign of Guangxu.Under the influence of the three identities of staff,teacher and writer,his poems and poetic thoughts were infiltrated by the Tongcheng poetics and era culture.This paper discusses the new changes of Wu Rulun’s poetic thoughts and its role in the Tongguang Poetry Circle,and enriches our understanding of Wu Rulun’s poetic thoughts and poetry creation.Wu Rulun’s poetics has formed a unique aesthetic orientation under the influence of family studies,practitioners and friends.He "discusses poetry with literature",and believes that poetry should be written in the style of writing,the style of writing can be used in poetry,and the discussion in poetry should be paid attention to;"Discuss poetry with Qi",regard "Qi" as the key of poetry,take Du,Han and Huang’s poetics as the center,advocate the beauty of Qi and health,and indulge in the artistic style of bold and extraordinary;"Poetry is based on learning",which emphasizes the cultivation and broad-mindedness of writers and opposes the vulgarity of poetry.Under the guidance of his poetics view,Wu Rulun’s poetry creation advocates changing from one teacher to another.On the one hand,he inherits the characteristics of the Tongcheng Poetry,which is dominated by the Tang and Song Dynasties,especially the Song Dynasty.And on the other hand,he can change with the times.He can trace back to the Han and Wei Dynasties,promote the magnificent style of writing,and form a poetic style of melting and casting the Han and Song Dynasties.Wu Rulun’s poetry style is elegant and vigorous.His poetry content is the common theme in the late Qing Dynasty.His farewell poems are sincere and profound,and his poems on calligraphy and painting are meaningful.His poems are gloomy and solemn when the country is sad.Wu Rulun paid a lot of singing in his life.In his singing with his teachers and friends,he reflected the literati mentality and worldly feelings under the alternation of the old and the new society.His poems were full of complex emotions wandering between the new and the old,and between the East and the West.Wu Rulun combed the development and changes of the Tongcheng Poetry,showing a distinct school consciousness.He connected the past with the next in Tongcheng poetics.He not only followed the poetic theories of "the combination of Tao and art","the integrity of elegance and vulgarity","the integration of poetry and prose",and "the melting of Tang and Song",but also had a great influence on the later Tongcheng poetics.The poetic thoughts and feelings of scholars such as Fan Dangshi,He Tao,Ma Qichang,Yao Yongpu,Yao Yonggai were influenced by Wu Rulun.His poetic views have certain significance and value in Tongcheng poetics and Tongguang poetics.
