| COVID-19 has had a substantial impact on the language service industry,and online interpreting has become the hottest trend since the epidemic broke out.It transforms the Language Service Industry and bridges communication across borders.However,online interpreting differs from traditional interpreting in various ways,posing different challenges for interpreters.Educational interpreting facilitates communication between lecturers and students in classroom settings.Educational interpreters must accurately convey a speaker’s content,intent,and expected effect through their interpreting.A practice report on distance interpreting focuses on the author’s experiences in Course Design and Development and analyzes subsequent educational interpreting practice under the guidance of Interpretive Theory.The author presented three interpreting strategies based on the principles of Interpretive Theory and the features of the practice to address challenges encountered in everyday online consecutive interpreting.These three strategies are adequate preparation and active communication,deverbalization and reformulation-oriented strategy and primary information retention and secondary information simplification.These strategies were designed to provide potential interpreting solutions.In addition,the report will refine the entire interpreting process,including pre-interpreting preparation,challenges and problems during interpreting,application of the interpreting strategies,self-evaluation after interpreting and the analysis of the interpreting strategy application.Thus,the author hopes to present a complete picture of online educational interpreting and to highlight the importance of theory in guiding consecutive interpreting. |
