This report is based on Chinese-English consecutive interpretation of Sino-Australian University Educational Cooperation Symposium,which was held by Shandong Provincial Education Department(SPED).Participants of this symposium include representatives from SPED,University of Jinan and University of Adelaide which was located in South Australia.This symposium is aimed at discussing cooperative possibilities in the field of higher education between the two sides.As one of important interpretive theories,the Interpretive Theory proposed by the Paris School once led the development of interpretive research in western countries.Nowadays,it still owns vitality and great developing prospect.The Interpretive Theory holds that interpreters should get rid of the limitation of linguistic form of the source text to convey the sense and meaning of speakers correctly.This interpreting practice takes the Interpretative Theory as the guiding theory.This report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is Task Description,which introduces the relevant information of this interpreting task,including background information,entruster's requirements and linguistic features of the source text.The second chapter is Process Description,which describes pre-interpreting preparation,process of this interpreting practice and feedback from entruster and audience after the interpretation.The third chapter is Theoretical Framework,which generally introduces main contents of the Interpretive Theory at first,and then further explains the Triangle Model of the Interpretive Theory and its applications in this practice.The fourth chapter is Case Analysis,which discusses interpreting strategies and methods from the perspectives of lexicon,syntax and culture based on core thoughts of the Interpretive Theory and Triangle Model.The fifth chapter is Conclusion,which looks back to the interpreting performance and sums up the experience,achievements and disadvantages to improve interpreting ability in the future.
