A Report On The Whispered Interpreting Of “New Challenges And New Achievements In Translation In The New Era”

Social progress and development cannot be separated from the spread of culture and mutual communication,and translation has played an important role in this process..This translation project is about an academic lecture given by Professor Huang Youyi at Henan University on April 22,2019.The lecture,combined with his own experiences and translation experience,standing in the perspective of translation from the content of translation,the task of translation,the role of translation,the industry changes of translation,combining the changes in the current era,shows the great changes in translation.At the same time,Professor Huang also encourages us to face up to these challenges and make a difference,in order to be a qualified interpreter.The author's client,Sarah Grande,is from the United States and her native language is English.Professor Huang Youyi is a Chinese,and his lecture is mainly in Chinese.This translation report will focus on the practice of whispering simultaneous interpretation,illustrate and show the author's translation.Language is the carrier of culture,and translation is not only a language transfer in the general sense,but also a kind of cultural communication.In practical translation work,translators,especially interpreters,should not only have good language skills,solid translation theories,rich cultural knowledge of the mother tongue and the target language,but also have encyclopedic knowledge reserve and strong resilience to the situation.This interpretation practice is whisper simultaneous interpretation,whether it is in the process of interpreting by listening to information or convey information,is done between the instant,must be in a very short time to deal with huge information,thus we should not only listen to accurately when interpreting information and the information must be correctly,to strive for "pass the massage" and "convey meaning".Interpretation is an unpredictability of impromptu bilingual information transmission,which requires the translator to enter the state of bilingual code switching at once with limited preparation,and both parties hope to express their ideas coherently and quickly to the other.However,since an interpreter is involved in the communication of different languages,the coherence of information expression and the rapidity of receiving information are affected to some extent.In view of this,the interpreter should be as fast and efficient as possible,which requires the interpreter to have excellent adaptability and fluency.The Interpretive Theory of the Interpretive School points out that the process of interpretation is the process of interpreting meaning,which is divided into three stages: "understanding the source language","breaking away from the linguistic structure of the source language" and "expression in the target language".Therefore,in this interpretation practice,the author tries to be as fast and accurate as possible.However,due to the inability of word-to-word translation,the author,under the guidance of the theory of interpretation,adopted the translation strategies of omission,deletion,generalization,simplification,paraphrase,and interpretation in order to accurately convey the important and main information of the lecture.The author tries to apply the theoretical knowledge of translation and the knowledge learned in the classroom during the two years of postgraduate education to this interpretation practice.Under the guidance of Interpretive Theory of the Interpretive School,represented by Danica Seleskovitch,the author analyzes the interpretation of some typical translation examples,to deepen the cognition and application of the theory,and to find out the causes of the various stages of the simultaneous interpretation errors,and strengthen the late translation training,hope can help translators interpreting practice accumulated some experience in the future.In addition,a systematic review and summarize the theory achievements and historical merits,also helps us to correctly recognize and understand the history and present situation of international interpreting studies and will inspire our interpreters of interpreting research in the future or interpreting practice with keen determination,and pay attention to the combination of theory with practice,contributing to a new research and development in the field of interpretation.
