A Report On C-E Interpretation From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

The thesis is a report on C-E interpretation of the micro documentary of The national album.As the arrival of the 71 th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War,the micro documentary column of Xinhua News Agency launched the first episode of The National Album on September 2,2016.And 67 episodes in all.The author chooses episodes 4,6,7,11,18,33,21,30,as the original text of this simulative practice,with the guidance of the interpretive Theory and the analysis of the feature of the documentary text.Meanwhile,the report proposes strategies dealing with problems in the process of interpreting,involving with domestication,foreignization,literal and liberal translation,as well as techniques of interpreting,such as reorganization and omission.Five chapters were included in this thesis.The first chapter demonstrates information related to the background,objectives and significance of the practice report;The second chapter mainly discusses preparations of the interpreting,including the previous studies on interpretive theory,glossary preparation,text features and definition of documentary;The third chapter describes the theory of this essay,the Interpretive Theory;The fourth chapter is the key part.The author focuses on the introduction of the Chinese characteristics expression in the documentary text,dealing with the definition,features,and interpreting difficulties of it,and how to interpret it with strategies like literal,liberal and explanation.In addition,a specific analysis of words and sentences interpreting from the documentary text is provided by the author.And strategies on interpreting four-character words,complicated sentences,and non-subject sentences were summarized.The fifth chapter makes a summary of this thesis.Through the simulative interpreting of several episodes from The National Album,the author first analyze the translation strategies from expressions of Chinese characteristics,four-character words,complicated sentences and non-subject sentences,which based on the feature of the text and theory.On the other hand,the interpreter makes a conclusion upon issues in this report,involved with the speaking speed,the ability of listening,the skill of note-taking,interpreting memory and speaking,frequent pauses.And experiences also obtained from the report,including language and non-language.Finally,the author wishes that this report can be a reference for the following interpreting researchers.
