Chinese ancient poetry is a treasure of traditional Chinese culture,which has undergone thousands of years of historical precipitation,highlighting the cultural selfconfidence of the Chinese nation.In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,ancient poetry is also a very valuable teaching resource,so it is of great significance to pay attention to the teaching of ancient poetry for international students at the intermediate and advanced stages in the teaching of Chinese language in domestic colleges and universities.In this paper,taking the teaching of ancient poetry of international students at the intermediate and advanced stages as the research object,when selecting the universities in Henan Province under investigation,from the three perspectives of the scale of international students,the Chinese level of international students,and the recruitment of academic students,the universities in Henan Province surveyed are determined to be Zhengzhou University,Henan University and Henan Normal University.Through the literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and other research methods,a comprehensive and meticulous investigation was conducted on the teaching of ancient poetry for international students at the intermediate and advanced stages in three universities in Henan Province,aiming to find out the shortcomings in the teaching of ancient poetry for international students and put forward optimization suggestions,so as to promote the better development of ancient poetry teaching for international students.The research is divided into four parts,the first part discusses the historical status and international influence of ancient poetry,and combines the linguistic characteristics and cultural characteristics of ancient poetry with the teaching requirements of language and culture teaching of international students at the intermediate and advanced stages to explain the importance of ancient poetry in the teaching of Chinese for international students;the second part conducts a more comprehensive investigation and analysis of the teaching status of ancient poetry in Henan Province from three perspectives: the curriculum of ancient poetry in three colleges and universities in Henan Province,the questionnaire survey for international students and the interview with teachers The third part summarizes the survey results and finds the shortcomings of the Chinese syllabus,school colleges,international students and Chinese teachers in the teaching of ancient poetry for international students in three colleges and universities in Henan Province;the fourth part proposes the optimization suggestions for the teaching of ancient poetry for international students from the four levels of the management department for the cultivation of Chinese as a foreign language,the school college,the international students and teachers;the appendix combines the teaching theory basis with the survey results of this paper to design the teaching of two classic ancient poems.There is great potential for the development of ancient poetry teaching in Chinese as a foreign language,this paper investigates and studies the teaching of ancient poetry in three universities in Henan Province for international students at the intermediate and advanced stages,hoping to contribute to the teaching of ancient poetry in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.
