| The Interpretive Theory put forward by scholars represented by Danica Seleskovitch and Marianne Lederer in the 1960 s is a crucial and instructive theory for interpreting activities.According to this theory, interpreting process consists of three stages: comprehension, deverbalization and re-expression.What the interpreter will understand, interpret and express is not the linguistic form of the source language, but the meaning and the idea that the speaker wants to express.Between the two stages of "comprehension" and "re-expression",there is an important "breaking away from source language shell" stage that can generate meaning. The main task of the interpreter in this stage is to break away from source language shell and to get the sense of the source language. This report is based on the simulated simultaneous interpreting of the Global Smart Education Conference held in Beijing in 2020.The core contents of the conference are the focuses and trend of future education and the combination of information technology and education, which makes great significance in promoting the sustainable development of future education. The author conducted the simulated simultaneous interpretation under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory, with the purpose to accurately convey the content and contribute to the success of the conference.Contents of this simulated interpretation are speeches delivered by Chinese guests, and difficulties in the interpreting process are mainly culture-loaded words, long and difficult sentences and words with Chinese characteristics.Guided by the Interpretive Theory, the author selects some typical cases and corresponding coping tactics to analyze. The author proposes that the three stages of the Interpretive Theory can effectively guide the simulated interpretation, convey source language information more accurately and make interpretation more fluent. It is expected that this report will have crucial meaning in improving the interpreting quality and ability, and can be a reference for future interpretation study and practice in the education field. |
