| Flipped classroom,which fundamentally subverts traditional teaching models,reflects advanced teaching ideas and technical advantages.It provides an important point and breakthrough for the deep intervention of information technology in the teaching process and the deep integration of teaching and technology.Considering the unsatisfactory teaching effect and low teaching efficiency of the course English Teaching Skill Training in higher vocational colleges,the application of flipped classroom teaching method to the course reform is of great practical significance for innovating the teaching of this course and improving the teaching quality.Based on the theories of flipped classroom and the O-PIRTAS flipped classroom model,this study aims to innovate English Teaching Skill Training,which is the core course of English education major in higher vocational colleges.This paper discusses the teaching effect of the flipped classroom teaching model on English Teaching Skill Training,in order to explore a suitable flipped classroom teaching scheme for this course.This study focuses on the following questions:1)Is the teaching effect of the O-PIRTAS flipped classroom model better than that of the traditional one in English Teaching Skill Training?2)If so,which specific effects are significantly better?This study adopts teaching experiment method.The experimental research was conducted among sophomore students majoring in English education in a higher vocational college in Shantou.The participants were divided into the experimental and the control classes.The experimental class carried out the O-PIRTAS flipped classroom model.The control class was taught in the traditional teaching model.After a semester of teaching,the teaching effect of the experimental class and the control class was compared.The study used questionnaires and test papers to collect data,and then the data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0.The results show that:1)Compared with the traditional teaching model,the teaching of English Teaching Skill Training based on the O-PIRTAS flipped classroom model is more effective.2)In the flipped classroom of English Teaching Skill Training based on the O-PIRTAS model,students can significantly improve their knowledge acquisition,skill application ability,learning initiative,perceptions of the learning environment and learning engagement. |
