The relationship between parenting style,self-esteem and achievement motivation is not clear in adolescents with depressive disorder.Therefore,the purpose of this study was to compare the differences between normal adolescents and adolescents with depressive disorder in the characteristics of parental parenting style,self-esteem and achievement motivation,and to explore the relationship between the characteristics of parental parenting style,self-esteem and achievement motivation of adolescents with depressive disorder.This study is divided into quantitative analysis and qualitative research.Quantitative analysis: 200 normal adolescents and 200 adolescents with depressive disorder were surveyed by general data Scale,Parenting Style Scale(EMBU),self-esteem Scale(SES),Achievement Motivation Scale(AMS)and self-rating depression Scale(SDS)in a city of Hebei Province.Qualitative research adopts phenomenological research method to conduct semi-structured questionnaire interviews with 10 adolescent depressive disorder patients,and uses Nvivo12 plus to organize and analyze the materials.The results show that: 1)In the normal adolescent group and the depressive adolescent group,paternal understanding of emotional warmth(T =10.564,P < 0.01),paternal severe punishment(T =-8.024,P < 0.01),paternal excessive interference(T =-5.137,P < 0.01),maternal understanding of emotional warmth(T =11.590,P < 0.01),and maternal too much They were divided into intervention and protection(t=-8.097,P <0.01),mother’s refusal to deny(t=-14.12,P < 0.01),mother’s severe punishment(t=-11.820,P < 0.01),self-esteem(t=-8.024,P < 0.01),motivation to pursue success(t=-12.513,P < 0.01),and avoidance Failure motivation(t=-10.858,P < 0.01)was significantly different.2)Self-esteem partially mediated the influence of father’s emotional warmth and mother’s denial on achievement motivation in adolescents with depressive disorder;Self-esteem completely mediated the influence of mothers’ excessive interference,protection and harsh punishment on achievement motivation of adolescents with depressive disorder.Qualitative research: 1)The parenting style of depressive disorder patients was mainly negative,with low motivation to pursue success,high motivation to avoid failure and low self-esteem;2)Father’s neglect and mother’s negative parenting style had a negative effect on the pursuit of success motivation,and a positive effect on the avoidance of failure motivation;Father neglect and mother’s negative parenting style had negative effect on self-esteem of depressive disorder patients.The self-esteem of depressive disorder patients has a negative effect on the avoidance of failure motivation.In conclusion: 1)Positive parenting style can reduce the occurrence of adolescent depressive disorder;The important manifestations of depressive disorder among adolescents with low self-esteem and low achievement motivation;2)Adolescents with depressive disorder choose to give up and escape more when facing difficulties;3)Paternal neglect is an important cause of adolescent depressive disorder;4)The improvement of self-esteem of adolescent depressive disorder is of great significance to the improvement of achievement motivation.Figure 9;Table 11;Reference 77. |
