Objective:Quantitative analysis was conducted from three aspects of nasal symptoms,TCM syndromes and quality of life to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Shuyuwan herbal paste in the treatment of allergic rhinitis with spleen and stomach weakness, and to provide ideas and basis for the clinical treatment of allergic rhinitis with spleen and stomach deficiency. Methods: A total of 64 patients with allergic rhinitis of spleen and stomach weakness who were treated in the otolaryngology department of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2020 to April 2022 were randomly divided into the treatment group(32 cases)and the control group(32 cases). The treatment group was orally administered with Shuyuwan herbal paste, and the control group was orally administered with montelukast sodium tablets. The treatment time of both groups was one month. The scores of nasal symptom score(TNSS),TCM syndrome integral and nasal conjunctivitis quality of life questionnaire(RQLQ)were recorded before treatment,1 month after treatment, and 6 months after treatment. The results were retrieved, analyzed, and evaluated. Results: 1.Comparison of indicators between groups:(1)Comparison of various indicators before treatment: the baseline data(age, sex, course of disease,TNSS,TCM syndrome score and RQLQ score)of the two groups of patients before treatment were respectively tested and the P value was greater than0.05,indicating that the data difference between the two groups was not statistically significant and comparable.(2)Comparison of indicators after1 month of treatment: there was no statistically significant difference in the score of symptoms of TNSS between the two groups(P>0.05),but there was statistically significant difference in the score of TCM syndromes and the score of sleep and mood in RQLQ scale(P<0.05).(3)Comparison of various indexes during follow-up: there were statistically significant differences in the scores of sneezing symptoms,TCM syndrome scores, sleep, mood and total scores in RQLQ between the two groups(P < 0.05),but no statistically significant differences in the scores of nasal symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose and nasal itching(P > 0.05).2.Comparison of intra-group indicators:(1)Comparison of the indexes before treatment and in the first month of treatment: there were statistically significant differences between the two groups in TNSS symptoms,TCM syndromes and RQLQ scores(P<0.05).(2)Comparison of the indexes before treatment and follow-up: there was no statistically significant difference in the score of sneezing in the control group(P>0.05),but there was statistically significant difference in the score of nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing symptoms,TCM syndromes and RQLQ in the control group(P<0.05);There were statistically significant differences in TNSS symptoms,TCM syndromes and RQLQ scores in the treatment group(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the follow-up indicators in the first month of treatment, the TNSS symptoms,TCM syndromes and RQLQ scores in the control group were significantly different(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in nasal congestion, nasal itching, sneezing symptoms, sleep and mood scores in RQLQ in the treatment group(P>0.05).Conclusion: 1.After one month of treatment, both Shuyuwan herbal paste and montelukast sodium tablets can effectively improve the symptoms of nasal congestion, runny nose, nose itching, sneezing and other symptoms, relieve the relevant TCM syndromes, and improve the quality of life of patients.2.No matter in the treatment of 1 month or the follow-up period, the effect of Shuyuwan herbal paste on improving the related symptoms of patients with spleen and stomach weakness and improving the sleep and emotional feelings of patients is significantly better than that of Monelukast sodium, indicating that the traditional Chinese medicine paste has obvious advantages in improving the overall state of patients.3.During the follow-up,there was no obvious recurrence trend in improving nasal symptoms such as stuffiness, itching, sneezing, etc.compared with that after 1 month of treatment, while the nasal symptoms of patients taking orally montelukast sodium tablets were worse than that after 1 month of treatment. However, there is no significant difference between the two, which may be related to the small sample size, the characteristics of perennial AR and the short time of oral paste.
