With the development of COVID-19China has entered the period of epidemic normalization.On the whole the national epidemic prevention and control has achieved a periodic victory.However the epidemic prevention and control failures have occurred all over the world.The uncertainty of the epidemic development has affected people’s life and made the public engraved with health and safety concerns.The public mainly get information through social media to relieve the negative emotions of tension and anxiety.The research on the emotional influence mechanism of College Students’ health information seeking behavior in public health emergencies can alleviate the frequency and degree of College Students’ negative emotions and also provide corresponding suggestions for the government’s emergency management and social media’s epidemic information reporting.This study aimed at the public health emergency situation using qualitative methods through semi-structured interviews to collect data in-depth interviews with 24 college students to explore the emotion and its influencing factors in the process of College Students’ health information search and to explore the specific information search behavior of college students.Through the three-level coding process of open coding spindle coding and selective coding the cognitive evaluation emotional factors and information search behavior were extracted and the emotional factors model of health information search behavior were constructed and tested.In addition based on the theoretical analysis this paper further explained the emotional factors model of health information search behavior and reveals the relationship between cognitive evaluation emotional factors and health information search behavior.The main conclusions were as follows:(1)Cognitive assessment included search meaning assessment search content assessment and search condition assessment.Search content assessment included information system assessment information content assessment and self-efficacy.The evaluation of search conditions included the evaluation of the quality of actual search content and the unity of content and cognition.(2)The emotion of college students were different in different search stages.In the initial stage college students’ emotions mainly included neutral emotion-moderate arousal negative emotions-low arousal negative emotion-moderate arousal negative emotions-high arousal positive emotion-moderate arousal.In the selection stage college students’ emotion mainly included positive emotion-moderate arousal and negative emotion-moderate arousal.In the exploration stage college students’ emotion mainly included negative emotion-high arousal negative emotions-low arousal negative emotion-moderate arousal neutral emotion-moderate arousal.At the stage of opinion formation college students’emotion were mainly positive emotion-moderate arousal.In the collection stage college students’ emotions were mainly positive emotion-moderate arousal and negative emotion-moderate arousal.(3)College Students’ health information search behavior mainly included positive search behavior negative search behavior and search external help.(4)Search meaning assessment caused college students’ emotion in the initial stage search condition assessment caused college students’ emotion in the selection stage and search content assessment caused college students’ emotion in the exploration stage.Different cognitive evaluation factors had different effects on affective valence and arousal.The more relevant the search meaning were to it self the more likely it is to lead to highly aroused negative emotions.If the evaluation of search conditions were positive it made college students produce positive emotions;If it were negativeit made college students produce negative emotions.The evaluation of search content quality made college students produce neutral emotion and different arousal degree of negative emotion.(5)Different emotional valence and arousal could promote or inhibit the health information search behavior of college students.In the exploration phase if the user had a high arousal of negative emotions it lead to negative seeking behavior making the search pause or terminate.Based on grounded analysis this paper puted forward suggestions for the government social media and college students.The government should release information timely and transparently pay attention to the objectivity of information and strengthen the supervision of information at the same time;Social media need to improve their information quality and platform system quality;College students should pay attention to mental health problems dredge negative emotions in time and improve information literacy at the same time. |
