As a global public health emergency,the COVID-19 has caused serious social consequences worldwide since its outbreak.Information,as an important resource,can help and guide people to study and respond to the outbreak and reduce uncertainty and anxiety,especially the dissemination of health information in the outbreak.However,due to the rapid development of the Internet,the network is full of rumors and false information,and the World Health Organization(WHO)defines infodemic as an information disorder caused by the dissemination of false information that goes hand in hand with the spread of epidemics.Health information seeking as a kind of information acquisition and confirmation behavior will have a wide range of effects on people’s physical and mental health.Based on the Pender health promotion model,this paper attempts to investigate the relationship between health information seeking and health promotion behaviors by adding risk perception and social support as mediating variables,self-efficacy as moderating variables,and gender,age,education level,and monthly income as control variables to investigate the relationship between the five propositions,aiming to explore the health promotion behaviors of people in the context of the new crown epidemic influencing factors,with the aim of improving people’s information acquisition behavior and promoting people to adopt more self-interested and altruistic health behaviors.In which risk perception was operationalized as perceived susceptibility and perceived severity,social support was operationalized as formal social support and informal social support,and the tests of mediating and moderating effects were mainly conducted through the Process 4.0 plug-in released by Hayes.In this paper,602 valid questionnaires were obtained through questionnaires distributed online and offline from December 12,2022 to December 28,2022,and after analysis by SPSS26.0,the main findings are as follows:(1)Although Internet social platforms play an important role in people’s daily life,traditional media,mainly television and radio,are still the(2)health information search significantly and positively influences health promotion behavior;(3)health information search significantly and positively influences perceived susceptibility and perceived severity;(4)perceived susceptibility and perceived severity have significant positive effects on health promotion behavior;(5)perceived susceptibility and perceived severity have(6)Health information seeking significantly and positively influences formal social support and informal social support;(7)Formal social support and informal social support significantly and positively influence health promotion behavior;(8)Formal social support and informal social support have significant mediating effects between health information seeking and health promotion behavior;(9)Self-efficacy has a significant moderating effect between health information seeking and health promotion behavior.In view of the above findings,this paper proposes the following recommendations: optimize the access to information and purify the information environment;adhere to the government-led and multi-body coordination to ensure the healthy development of health information;give full play to the role of the "last mile" in the community;pay attention to the role of social support to help physical and mental health. |
