In response to the problems of high peanut kernel damage rate and low threshing rate of existing peanut shellers in China’s market,a design scheme of edge scraper type peanut sheller was proposed in this paper.Two varieties(Luhua No.9,Si Lihong)were selected as test materials,and on the basis of physical property measurement and mechanical property testing of peanut pods and peanut kernels,the design of the components of edge scraper type sheller was carried out,and simulation analysis was performed by using finite element theory.In addition,experimental research and analysis of shelling performance were conducted,and the main contents of the paper are as follows.(1)The design idea of the components of edge scraper type sheller was proposed.With the goal of reducing the rate of kernel damage,the design concept was proposed on the basis of fully analyzing and summarizing the problems of peanut shellers at home and abroad,and combining the working principle of shelling and cutting theory.(2)Physical and mechanical properties of peanut pods were measured.The moisture content test results showed that when peanut pods and peanut kernels were dried for four to seven days,the moisture content of both tended to level off and the moisture content did not change much.The shear force test showed that with the increase of peanut moisture content,the shear force causing peanut damage showed a trend of first decreasing and then increasing.With the same moisture content,the shear force causing peanut damage under different application directions is the smallest in the lateral direction,the second smallest in the forward direction,and the smallest in the vertical direction.(3)Design of key components for shelling.The design of the edge scraper type sheller was proposed.Based on the edge scraper components structure and force analysis,the mathematical model of the sine curve structurey = 8.5 × sin 5 was determined as the design prototype,the length of the scraper was determined to be 550 mm,the angle of inclination of the edge was determined to be 20°,the height of the edge was determined to be 8 mm,and the value of the sine curve period C was determined to be between 6π and 14π.(4)Simulation analysis study.ANSYS finite element simulation software is used to analyze the static mechanics of the sheller.And it was concluded that the shelling drum would not be subjected to fracture,which is in accordance with the design requirements and material requirements.Through modal analysis,it was concluded that the resonance phenomenon would not occur when the sheller is working.The structural strength to meet the requirements of this working condition was obtained through kinetic analysis to ensure that the test device can meet the requirements of the shelling working condition and its preparation.(5)Shelling performance testing and data analysis.The single-factor tests of corrugated edge period,corrugated edge height and working clearance were conducted on the prototype to determine the optimal parameters.Then a Design-expert design multi-factor orthogonal test scheme was selected on this basis.The optimal parameters affecting the threshing rate and kernel damage rate of Luhua peanut and Si Lihong peanut pods were determined to be a corrugated blade period of 10π.The corrugated edge heights were 8mm and 6mm,respectively,and the rotational speeds were 350r/min and 355r/min,respectively.The distance between the concave sieve-striking parts is 17 mm and 11 mm.The concave sieve is set up as a grating type concave sieve,and the machine shelling operation work after parameter optimization is verified to meet the market demand by comparison test.
