Sapindus has great economic value and officinal value.At present,the shelling process of Sapindus is falling behind.Therefore,there is an urgent need to develop a practical shelling equipment of Sapindus.In this paper,Sapindus is considered as the research object and shelling equipment was designed which is suitable for Sapindus.On the basis of studying the shelling method of shell fruit,the shelling methods of Sapindus were determined.The relationship between physical properties or compressive mechanical properties of Sapindus and moisture content of Sapindus were obtained which provide basis for the design of shelling equipment.The stress analysis of the state when Sapindus in the cutting and squeezing work area were analyzed and the requirement of Sapindus entry into the cutting gap was obtained.In this paper,the size of each part of shelling equipment of Sapindus such as feeding and cleaning system,power and transmission mechanism,flexible squeezing,cutting and rubbing device and so on were designed.The 3D model of shelling equipment was established by SolidWorks 3D modeling software,and virtual assembly and interference checking were carried out.The static analysis and modal analysis of important components of shelling equipment were finished by the finite element analysis software Ansys Workbench.The static analysis verified the strength of the part and the results meet the requirements of materials.The first 10 modes of the frame were analyzed and the results show that the frame will be no resonance during operating.In this study,the prototype of shelling equipment was developed and the shelling performance tests were carried out.The effects of four factors,including moisture content of Sapindus,rotating speed of rubber roller,productivity and install the blade set or not on the shelling rate and the broken seeds rate were studied.The optimal rotating speed of rubber roller range from 100 to 150 r/min.The shelling rate is higher when the moisture content of Sapindus is 4.66%or 20.52%.The equipment has the applicability for shelling wet seeds or dry seeds.
